Thanks for the update Perry and the team. I have been studying your work for three years now and every so often, I hit a wall! But your desire to help the average…soon to be professional marketer, is invaluable.
I always get something important from your emails and the stories of others.
I found your post really interesting and informative. I am very new to this having only just started. I will definitley be following you on twitter and hope that I may become successful enough to warrent doing the personal coaching in the future which looks great.
I look forward to following you and learning from you. Maybe one day soon I will be able to join one of your classes but till then I will be read and watching alot of you.
Thank you once again for the heads up. I guess we all have this love/hate relationship with Google. By the way, the call with Rhonda Ellis on the content network was awesome. Thanks.
Wow. I’m so impressed with your knowledge of adwords and your explanation of how thinning the herd is a positive thing and that Google did us a favor. Great stuff. I appreciate the insight and look forward to the conference call.
URL testing is the absolute first thing I do with clients (I believe so much in it, I won’t take a client who isn’t willing to test URLs) … so I wouldn’t miss this call for $10,000 bucks
Perry I appreciated the rant. I really look forward to hearing anything you say because I am convinced your heart is to serve and help people. I enjoy learning from you and growing my business.
You are one of the most consistently inspired and inspiring coaches in this game and your stuff reminds me of shaped explosive charges which cut steel like butter. Fire in the hole, yeh! Much thanks for your courage in sharing what shaped you.
Great information Perry. I read your emails regularly and will be investing in your services as soon as i finish this comment.
I am finished sitting on the sidelines, watching and reading. I wanna start doing now!
Thanks so much for such an informative video! Your books have been EXTREMELY helpful to me and my businesses in the past and I appreciate all you teach us!
I realize you are “the” recognized expert on Google adwords. So I have a question….
I was considering purchasing some of your books, but as per your current video.Google is constantly evolving and changing so wouldn’t most of the books, etc. be out date and a good bit of the info be irrelevant now. I realize their could still be a lot of basics there, but this field is changing quickly.
I’m still a big fan of yours.

Perry,
I was always under the understanding that Google penalises those who use domains that have recently been purchased and will inflate your click prices as a result – isn’t it best to use an aged domain rather than a new one for adwords?
Re: Subdomains – ie http://subdomain.domain.com in same adgroup, no problem. It’s having domain1.com and domain2.com in the same adgroup that’s the problem.
Re: Google books being outdated: The nuances change. The fundamentals have not changed in 7 years. Bryan is releasing an updated Definitive Guide in a few weeks; but even the current one has very little that’s out of date. If you master the basics and keep your eye on the ball, the Internet does NOT change as fast as everyone would have you believe.
You can still test domain names in display URL’s, you just need to do it in a very specific way. Will cover that on Monday’s call.
Hi Perry – from here downunder in New Zealand. Thanks for the heads-up on that. It is good to know ahead of time. I make use of a lot of ‘creative’ subdomains in my ads …. like –
Adwords-by-.MickG.co.nz
OR
The-Adwords-Mechanic-.MickG.co.nz
…. and am glad to here that this will still be possible within the same adgroup.
I love your Adwords Piano Maker/ Player Analogy. I have actually trialled one of Google ‘Expert’s’ campaign building skils – just to see what they came up with. And it IS horrible
It was only a matter of time until google changed the URL rules, I’m suprised it’s taken them this long really.
So long as they don’t start insisting on lower case letters. I find that for some sites (usually ones with good keywords in their domain) having http://www.DomainName.com works well.
I am certain that the age of a domain name factors into their organic search results formula somewhere. I do not know about the AdWords side, but I wouldn’t be surprised.
By the way, in the current economy, the domain name market (“domainers”) is down and domain names are a lot cheaper than they used to be. It’s a good time to be sleuthing.
Yep, you are right. Google definitely tightened the screws … already. I found out the hard way yesterday. All my PPC ads were disapproved or their Quality Score went so low they won’t ever display. I called an 800 number I have for Google and spoke with one of their adwords reps. Google no longer considers network marketing, affiliate marketing and MLM businesses as “valid” businesses. As a result, they have disallowed all ads forwarding to affiliate links/sites, bridge pages that then forward to an affiliate site, and any site that contains or mirrors all or portions of a parent company site. Even my ads for my own personal biz site landing page and home business web sites went down. They did not disapprove them, but they immediately lowered my Quality Score (from GREAT to POOR) so low that the ads never display. The adwords rep. also told me that to get my Quality Score back up, Google would have me increase my bid so high that it would kill my ROI completely. To all – be prepared, you may not see this happen until you edit an existing ad or create a new ad, then Goggle will review all your campaigns, that’s when all your MLM, home business and affiliate ads will drop. I moved all mine to Yahoo last night until we all can come up with a solution to this. This is going to shut down every ad anyone has running on Google as an affiliate where you have registered a domain and have it forwarded to your affiliate links/sites. I am looking forward to your call on Monday at noon CST, hopefully you will have some suggestions as to a solution.
Hi Perry, I was so looking forward to this call, BUT, I got the time mixed up.
I am in New Zealand.
Any way I will look forward to the MP3.
Cheers

"Not
knowing what I was doing, I was about to spend $300 a day on Google ads just
to test them, but then stopped myself and read your book first. "Actually, I
only skimmed it. Now I'm spending ONE DOLLAR a day and seeing sales. I'm now
reading all of your book and it is a masterpiece. "You didn't
ask for this endorsement, but I'm giving it anyway. Thank you for saving my

"$1600 worth of business in the FIRST DAY and I only spent $5.51 in google advertising - I can't believe it. My business partners and I are super-charged with excitement that we haven't felt in many months (months spent cold calling over and over and over).

Thanks for the info Perry. I’ve been in marketing for 14 years and in a few weeks I will start my first Google campaign.
All along I was counting on subdomains to better target my audience.
Thanks for providing so much help.

From Feb 2009 onwards, no more testing display domains? Can I still use redirect links for tracking?
How did you know that I was in the middle of setting up my PPC ads? (wink, wink)
This will certainly help – I’ll push through as much as I can and keep an ear out.

Hello Perry and the team.I was wondering why is it that we can only schedule the ad campaigns for 12 hrs only?
