Most businesses retreating –> Time to take new ground

Most businesses are in retreat right now. When General Motors is wheezing like a dying animal, the natural instinct for all of us is to draw the shades and huddle around our kitchen table and be thankful for our one bowl of thin cold porridge.

But…. not everyone is in retreat. We just had our Roundtable meetings two weeks ago and at least four members achieved record sales during the last three months.

This is a GREAT time to press forward. The breadlines are longer but the competitive lineup is shorter. The competition is thinner, less adept, less alert. Click prices in some markets have gone down by half.

One of my members is a local mortgage company, and even in the midst of all the carnage and wreckage of the mortgage market, they have now gone online. They’re getting hot qualified leads for less than $10.

That would have been unheard of 2 years ago but they’re achieving it and making a GOOD living. Even as the world goes up in flames around them.

Most importantly, they’re taking up ground that others have given up. When their market comes back they’ll be the new boss in town.

I just got a blog comment this morning that said, “Despite the recession i will have increased my sales and profit X4 this year!!!”

Here at Perry & Co. we’ve increased our staff 30%, hired a Content Czar, Affiliate Manager, Operations Manager and a new customer service specialist – all in the last 3 months.

We’ve made MAJOR adjustments in how we spend our marketing dollars, the systems we invest in, and the kind of promotions we do. You have only seen a hint of this so far. There will be much, much more.

But here’s the most important thing I can tell you. You can write this in blood:

MOST COMPANIES WERE DOING 40% TO 70% OF THEIR MARKETING WRONG *BEFORE* THE RECESSION AND THEY’RE STILL DOING 40% TO 70% OF THEIR MARKETING WRONG *AFTER*  THE RECESSION. THEY’RE JUST DOING LESS OF IT NOW.

And in the land of the blind, the man with one eye gets to be king.

If you can get to where your marketing is only 25% screwed up instead of 50% screwed up, you get to be Number 1.

You don’t even have to fix ALL your marketing. You can make major gains just by thoroughly fixing ONE thing.

Consider this: In just 4 weeks your AdWords campaigns can go from mediocre to world class. You can literally be one of the best 2-4 guys in your niche, even if you’re up against 50 or 100 or 150 bidders.

I’m guaranteeing that if you follow the steps in AdWords Boot Camp you’ll get your money back if you don’t see a 30% improvement.

I’m also guaranteeing that if your sales is at least $1,000/month (that’s a teeny tiny company) and you follow the steps, if your sales don’t grow by at least $10K per year, you get your money back.

Two guarantees not one. Even if you’re just starting out.

What would a 30% improvement do for your business???

Some people will achieve 300% and a million dollars. But I’m guaranteeing at least 30% and ten grand.

Boot Camp starts in less than a week – Tuesday June 9. Register at

  1. Great article and absomutely right on spot.

Whether the economy is good or bad, there are always thousands of people in (almost) any niche starving for outstanding value and service. And I guess as long as one can properly comunicate his/her benefits (through clever marketing) and deliver on promises, there will be only one logical consequence – growth & prosperity.

  2. Good stuff Perry…

Oh yeah – I’m taking new ground for sure. And I’m not doing it by driving a stake into the ground.

No, instead – this time – I’m planting a massive pillar into the earth. And, yes – its taking a little more time, effort and money – But ‘big things’ require such.

Here’s a glimpse of the ‘tip of the iceberg’. More to come… MUCH more…

NOTE: you can build a back end – that NO-one can duplicate – when you’ve created a unique ‘front-end’ “entrance”…
