Wide-ranging conversation with Yaro Starak

A few months ago a very sharp blogger from Down Under, Yaro Starak, interviewed me on the telephone and in my opinion we had a great conversation.

The first 15 minutes is stuff long-time Perry customers have already heard before. After that, stories you’ve probably not heard. About 20 minutes in, I talk about why I promote so very few affiliate programs and I tell the story of a most interesting exception I made, and how it almost went bad.

36 minutes in, a confession about what I DON’T test and track and why the direct marketing testing & tracking mantra only gets you so far. (It will probably make you feel better.)

48 minutes in, things people talk about on the Internet that they won’t discuss in person.

And at the end, Charles Dickens’ #1 secret formula for being a productive writer.

I think you’ll like this:

    That was real good Perry!

I have been reading and listening to Yaro for a while and he always spoke highly of you on his blog.

My initial impression was that you did not like blogs. So I did not know how credible his advice was regarding blogging for money. I guess I was wrong.

The interview with Yaro was informative. I really was intrigued with the write everyday advice.

Do you just sit down and write the first thing that comes to mind?

I write the first thing that I think my customers would be interested in, in an email or blog post.
