NC-17: “How to prevail when the economy is !@#$% up” – Tuesday
Tuesday at noon Central time I’m doing an adults-only teleseminar with John Paul Mendocha, aka Dr. Speedselling: “How to prevail when the economy is !@#$% up.” This is mature content, not for those with certain sensitivities and definitely not for children.
You’ll hear snippets of actual conversations and bare-knuckles conflict in the board room, uncensored – foul language and all. Expect a sudden wake-up from the “should be” world to the “is” world.
When the economy hit the skids John was forced to suspend a couple of major projects and don his “corporate turnaround artist” hat. For years John has taken on high-paying gigs, turning around failing companies and making them profitable. He’s doing it again.
Those turnarounds make for great stories after the fact, but on a day-to-day basis they get pretty ugly. John will pull no punches as he tells you what he’s doing right now.
How he’s successfully raising prices, increasing every vital stat in the business, and ruthlessly throwing dead weight overboard.
Not for the squeamish. But if you believe that facing hard realities and taking decisive action is the thing to do right now, this call will inspire and empower you:
Date: Tuesday October 6 Time: 12:00 a.m. Central time (1pm Eastern, 10am Pacific, 17:00 GMT)
Number to call: +1 212-990-8000
Pin number: 5000 then press the # sign
NOTE: The MP3 will only be made available to Renaissance Club members and above. All others need to be on the live call. If you’re not a Renaissance Club member, sign up here.

Now that’s how business should be !@#$% conducted! People need to get their egos, their politics, and dumbed-down People magazine mentality out of the way and DO business.
It still amazes me that when someone is successful for ‘telling it like it is’, that’s it’s so surprising. It’s not! If people don’t have a grip on reality in an economy like this, they are clueless!
I am REALLY looking forward to this call, Perry!
Hello, I attempted to log on to the seminar, but was repeatedly told the pin # was incorrect.
It’s on Tuesday
Wow, I wanted to listen to this. Imagine my surprise when I jumped on at 10:55 pacific and heard 5 minutes to go. How sneaky of you to change this web page to the right time.
Should have done my own time conversion!
Thanks for the opportunity and everything you do Perry.
Hey,
Thanks for this call. Enterpenuers should be willing to take risks, especially when risks can pay off when everyone else is retreating. I’m on it, buddy.
Unlike Ray, I don’t think you are “sneaky” and obviously you didn’t change the time, it was a typo that I too did not challenge.
I did not check email in advance of the call because it is usually a time waster, so like Ray, I missed the call except for the last 10 minutes or so as you ran over an hour.
I am writing a comment because I am going to contact John even without having heard the whole call — the last 10 minutes was that good. Remember Tom Peters’ famous “Ready Fire Aim” on Fast Company magazine a 100 years ago??
I am a person who can “demonstrate that I can produce a result” (which is the exact line I logged in the call on) and “I’m good at certain or most pieces of the marketing puzzle” but am short on who to talk to next or where to find this “sitting money.” And I too believe there is a ton of it out there looking for place to land and grow, but I’m not connecting the right dots. I can spend $33k today in this economy which is microloan amount and I can pay a significant return on the investment if not a direct loan.
I have been shopping for private money and government start up assistance for months but am also new girl in town in Arizona (moved from VA) and don’t know where to turn as all the other usual sources have closed their doors. I’ve been approved SBA for microloan but 8 of 9 funding sources have closed or suspended activity. CDFI’s in AZ have suspended or shortened activity and private orgs such as SELF.org is completely gone. Every “public help” is for job seekers not entrepreneurs and everyone… I mean EVERYONE needs you to start at the absolute beginning of their program with 12 weeks to write business plan etc. before they will even talk to you. I can’t wait to see how this bureaucratic attempt at being a friend to entrepreneurs works out. http://www.commerce.gov/NewsRoom/PressReleases_FactSheets/PROD01_008444
I have found that in addition to “demonstrating that you can produce a result” you must also be very different than every guru or wanna be ponzi artist who “demonstrates results” at first and with testimonials.
People are so skeptical now as they should be (maybe you covered this in the call but I don’t know). The people you talk to have to be in your neck of the woods already and if you are talking to people who have mostly invested in Real Estate in the past, they have to be led very carefully to alternative asset class of investing in business venture. It is just a different conversation these days and one that I am learning a hard way.
I can show a business that is not-just-for-profit and has a triple bottom line. I am just sick that my business and I are dying a slow painful death because of capital lack alone when I could be doing so much better for the world.
Those of us who had suffered some setbacks prior to the current impact of financial crisis have not been able to grab a breath of air yet. I actually had the great fortune to be one of the first whistleblowers on current problem back in late 2006, but that just means I’ve been doing it longer, not that I’m coming out quicker. It is all up to me and I take personal responsibility very seriously… not blaming. I consider myself a revolutionary not a victim, because I WILL change what doesn’t work, and will always do the right thing to best of ability but neither role has a paycheck or investment check attached today.
My business start-over is good. And I’ve gotten many classic “mistakes” behind me, don’t need to make those again. So even without hearing the call today, I’m calling John.
Thank you, Perry for the introduction and always the great content and “just in time” topics. You’ve mastered being inside my brain a couple of times especially recent reprint of “discernment” topic. Cutting through the BS is key right now, because all the wanna be investors will still pretend that they have $$ to loan or invest just to hear and co-opt your ideas. Learning to sort and not get ripped off is very big in this financial crisis, especially when it can be the whole big leaders or systems (banks) doing the ripping off. but that is another topic another day.
see you. thanks.
patricia
p.s. if you do decide to make the call available to those on west coast who irresponsibly did not do their own math, I am in pacific time in AZ but with an east coast cell number, so I don’t know how your filters work. I do not expect this courtesy, but if you do offer it, I hope notice is by email and not phone area code.
thanks.
Patricia,
MP3 is posted in our members area for Renaissance Club members. I think Rclub is a worthy investment -

That was one hell of a call. I’m still digesting it. I especially liked his comeback to “karma’s a b!@%#” that he “never met the lady.” Thanks for putting it together, Perry.
I agree, RClub is way worth it, the expert series was an eye opener and I grew exponentially by listening to it. You could have easily sold it for at least $100 bucks. Getting it for free rocks. Mastermind club is even sweeter.
