When they put me in the box…

…make sure they play this song, by Handel and Quincy Jones:

Oh, and hire the best choir of ebony voices you can find to sing it. I’m probably worth more dead than alive anyway, so go ahead spend the money. Make it a huge friggin’ CELEBRATION!

I have heard people describe such a party as a “Fun” -eral. Potential for doing that for my own. Adding this piece would certainly help :-)

    Blessings!

Long before we arrive at the endpoint of our life… that often does entail being put into a box of one sort or another…

We Find That During The Course of Our Life–People Will Always Be “Sizing US Up” and “Typing & Classifying US”…

    In Other Words–
Attempting To Put US Into Any of Various “Boxes” IN THEIR MINDS or SYSTEMS of OPERATION–

    THIS MUSIC…
THIS…”When they put me in the box” Music–
THIS MUSIC IS POWERFUL–GET ME OUT of THAT BOX THAT SOMEBODY’S TRYING TO PUT ME IN–MUSIC…
IT Helps Keep US All Fully Alive & Well–While We’re Still On THIS SIDE of Heaven…Listen To IT Often–Don’t Wait Until The End Zone Before Tuning THE REALLY GOOD STUFF IN !!

      Yes–Cameron…
Thanks for this link AND thanks be to Mel Gibson and EVERYBODY Involved in the making of “The Passion of the Christ” For Reminding All US Christians of The FULL Story of “The Cross” WITH “Christ ON The Cross”…for too long…too many of us have grown up viewing only a plain cross–Shorn of All Indication of Christ’s Presence There.

    Perry,
What a wonderful version of Handel’s Chorus; I was trained to sing the classical version, but the version you present here really rocks! I like both,as well as the other renditions.I am black, but I don’t fit snugly into any box.
    Thanks

    Hi, Perry.
I’ve mentioned on another occasion to you that I went to NYU for music. I had the ridiculously amazing opportunity to see Chick Corea, Keith Jarrett, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans (one of my heros), and many others on a regular nightly basis when I was going to NYU and after.

I can look back and say that I asked Bill Evans to teach me piano, but he said he wasn’t available. I consider the asking a victory because, the alternative could be that I could look back today and say I never asked him but wanted to.

Thanks for the gospel share. Black gospel and progressive house and tribal are my favorite genres.

Please take a listen to a flawless take of RAIN DOWN on my music page at: http:dianegold.com/music.html.

That would be the song I would like played when it is my time.

    Peace IN,
