Come to my Autoresponder Workshop September 27-28 in Chicago, where I’ll give you 25 turn-key email marketing templates, a 175-message, 2+ year swipe file from my own proven sales system, and I’ll divulge my entire email marketing strategy to a maximum of 30 people.

THE
BEST PART: You’ll look
over our shoulders as my hand-picked team of professional copywriters
writes 10 custom autoresponder messages
just for you. We’ll upload finished emails before you get on
the plane to go home, making this the most instantly profitable seminar
you’ve ever attended, or your money back.

Dear Marketing Professional:
The
world is not as it appears.
Items
that matter least become front-page headline news, while things that
urgently impact you barely get a mention.
(Why
should anyone care what beer Jessica Simpson is drinking?)
Most folks are sheep wearing pants and dresses, squandering their precious time on fluff and nonsense.
Picture of sheep
A
more enlightened minority gets on with more important matters.
So
it is marketing online. Somebody’s always hawking some new thingie,
like some shell game about, say, how to get your Google ads for free.
Or how to make money from home being a mystery shopper.
Yeah,
whatever.
But
the true professionals in this business see things a little differently.
They know that any real solution to a marketing problem must
address the most fundamental issue. In the opening of this letter I
addressed you as “Dear Marketing Professional” – one who deals
with reality as it is.
If
you’re a true professional in this business you know the most fundamental
issue in any marketing operation is quality
and quantity of contact. BOTH elements are crucial.
Case
in point:
People think I’m “the Google AdWords guy” because I’m the best at Google AdWords.
Perryseminar.jpg
They
don’t know that the real secret is my mastery of email marketing
and autoresponders.
I
am quite serious about this.
Had
I been lazy and relied on the one-step sale, you would have never heard
of Perry Marshall. If I did what most people do, which is upload
2-3 mediocre autoresponder messages, I’d have a tiny little consulting
company that hardly anyone pays attention to.
You don’t want either of those outcomes. Consider the power of a well-engineered Autoresponder system:

So
before you chase after yet-another social media strategy or hire some
company from Manila to write you 67 poorly plagiarized blog articles,
I would like to suggest that the fastest path to dominating your market
is a properly architected Power Follow-Up Sequence.
Which is why I’m giving a unique Autoresponder Workshop in Chicago. If you achieve optimum quantity and quality of contact, you will have a superior level of traction with your customers. No one will be able to equal your magnetism or your reach. Rivals will be at your mercy.
Seminar photo
This also adds a tremendous element of stability to your business as a whole. If you have a 1-year autoresponder sequence and suddenly you lose all your traffic for a week (let’s say your rankings suddenly drop or your ads get disapproved), your sales won’t drop to zero.
http://perrymarshall.
They
may hardly drop at all, at least in the short term. To the extent that
such an interruption does impact your sales, you may in fact be able
to compensate by hitting your list the very next day with a special
offer, and you experience no loss at all.
This
will only be effective, however, if you’ve built the level of trust
and rapport that a well-designed Autoresponder strategy can give you.
My Entire
Formula, Explained
At
this event I’m going to digest, de-construct and teach my entire approach
to email and autoresponders to you, including a detailed examination
of my own sales funnels and the hidden psychology behind them.
You’ll
get a CD-R of every major autoresponder sequence in my sales funnel,
every single email, the exact day those messages are delivered, and
a look at how the various funnels are interleaved to create maximal
customer involvement.
There’s even a way for you to get this part for free.

how:

(I would also suggest that you buy the Definitive Guide to Google AdWords; or for $30/month you join Renaissance Club, there’s some really good stuff in both post-sale sequences.) But anyway…
Inf_screenshot.jpg
You
will want to use a different email address for each list you get on
so you know which list is responsible for the messages you receive.
Read
and respond to each message as you normally would.
Over
the next two years and eight months, you will then receive most of autoresponder
messages that we’ll be discussing in the seminar.
Some
time around May 2011 you will have received all the messages.
You can then study how the whole thing was put together. Won’t cost
you a thing.
But
if you’re a Return-On-Investment type of person, there is a much
faster way…
A Seminar
Where The Instructors Do The Work For You
You
can come to my Chicago seminar and get all those messages at once, on
a CD. With a thorough explanation of how all of it fits together.
You’ll
also get 25 email templates – for 25 specific structures that achieve
25 different outcomes that matter a great deal in the game of persuasion
and trust building.
The
templates are just the warmup. Because
the main attraction is, I’ve hand selected a team of star copywriters
who will sit down with you and write 10 autoresponders for you.
You can look over their shoulder and dialogue with them as they write.
They’ll quiz you about your business and your customers, they’ll explain every persuasive element, they’ll endow your copy with magic words.

Before you get on the plane to go home, your messages will be uploaded and working for you.

Guarantee: If this isn’t
the most instantly profitable seminar you’ve ever attended, come to
me by noon on Sunday and I’ll give your money back.
Please
note: Because I am maintaining a 3:1 ratio of students to faculty, only
30 people are allowed to register for this seminar. When it’s
full, it’s full. No further registrations will be permitted.
Bring your
sales letter to the optional FOCUS day and we’ll fix that, too:
I’ve added an optional 3rd day. Only 11 people are allowed to attend the Monday session, because of the intense personal attention you will receive. Two students per copywriter. You’ll get a hot seat and we’ll re-work your copy, adding magic and seduction. You maybe even walk out with a business that’s been instantly invented by a single brilliant insight.

Is A Great
Sales Letter Really Enough?
Years
ago Dan Kennedy famously said, “One good sales letter can furnish
you with a comfortable lifestyle for years.”
This
is almost true. True enough that I would say about half my income
during the last five years is directly attributable to three or four
sales letters. Believe me, there is definitely such a thing as
a million dollar sales letter. I’ve written several.
But
a sales letter working alone is like an 8-cylinder engine with half
the spark plugs yanked out. The part that gets left unsaid
is the supporting elements. Naturally you have to have a traffic source.
Google ads, organic listings, affiliates, whatever.
But
especially email. The trust-building touches, the spice and personality,
the varied angles you take with your sales message. The STORIES.
Because
even if you try, you cannot fit everything you’d like into your sales
letter. It couldn’t all possibly fit and still be organized. Most
of my customers sell sophisticated products. There are probably dozens
of stories you could tell, and almost no one is going to read them all
at once.
You
sure can parcel them out over time. Send them in memorable snippets
that take only a minute to read. Here’s an example:
Dear FIRSTNAME,
April 19, 1775: The shot was fired that was
heard 'round the world.
At the Battles of Concord and Battle Road in
Massachusetts, the British met a surprising militia
formation of American farmers. The Redcoats marched
in plain view while colonial minutemen hid behind every
house, tree and fencepost.
The score: Americans lost 93, but the British lost 273.
It was a humiliating start to a
war they would eventually lose.
That's Guerilla Warfare, my friend. Traditional warfare is
"playing by the rules," but Guerilla warfare means re-defining
the rules, even as the game is being played. It's tossing
conventional wisdom out the window and becoming your
opponent's unseen enemy.
Every week I talk to people who are sick and tired of
playing by the rules, and not winning nearly as much
as they could or should.
They're sick and pulling that black checkbook out of
their top desk drawer, giving money to some media rep
and not knowing if that money is coming back, when
it's coming back, or how they'll
ever know.
They're sick and tired of dialing for dollars every
day, trying to get in to see prospects who need what
they have but aren't willing to listen to "just another
peddler."
They're sick and tired of competing only on the
basis of price, when they know that what they sell
is worth far more than what they
ask for it.
In marketing, the
old rules go something like this:
-"You've just got to get your
name out there."
-"Make more phone calls than
you made yesterday."
-"You have to prove to your customer that you're willing
to work harder, drive more miles, and bend over further
to get his business."
Today, those rules are a recipe for suicide.
Here's what some of
the NEW rules are:
-When you automate the most labor-intensive parts of
your sales process, you only have to spend time with people
who are ready and willing to buy
something from you
-Every marketing and advertising dollar you invest is
held accountable for ROI. It comes back to you with
friends attached.
-All that Madison Avenue talk about "branding" and "image"
is a bunch of BS. It doesn't work. It's a waste of money.
But... when your advertising really works, it's the best place
to invest your money, period.
-You can become a well-known expert, even a celebrity
within your industry, by exercising the power of media and
publicity. When you have that kind of status, it
becomes easy to get appointments
and close sales.
Watch for the Guerilla Marketing packet in the mail --
and stay tuned for future updates.
To your success,
Perry Marshall
See,
that story really hooks people, but it never would’ve fit in the sales
letter I wrote for this product. It also couldn’t be fit on my Guerilla
Marketing CD, which was already nearly 80 minutes long to begin with.
You
have rarely said everything that you really needed to say, or could
say. Even a 20-pager only tells the main part of the story.
If
you can tell those other tidbits in an interesting way, in time you’ll
have an opportunity to cover every base, every objection, every reason
for buying.
Here’s the secret reason why this is true: Have you ever met, say, a music fan who knew “everything” about, say Jerry Garcia or Jimi Hendrix or Jimmy Buffet?
Jerry Garcia pic
They
know literally a thousand stories about the guy.
How
did they pick up all those stories?
One
at a time.
(OK,
maybe ten or twelve with a bunch of other Dead Heads driving home from
a concert.) But mostly those stories were absorbed in little dribbles.
There
is NO SUCH THING as a Jerry Garcia biography that contains all those
stories. It’s only got the best ones.
But
raving fans want to hear ALL the stories.
Not all at once, but while they’re scratching the Grateful Dead itch,
while the itch is happening.
The
marketing equivalent to raving fans is what I call the hyper-responsive
customer. This is the customer who buys everything, reads
everything, goes to everything, does everything.
This is only 5% of the customers but if you treat them properly they product 50% of your income. They are your power base. And autoresponders are uniquely capable of communicating your own “Jerry Garcia” stories. They feed your fans.
Twincities.jpg
The
beautiful thing about email is, you can nudge your hyper-responsive
customers and stimulate their itch at will.
And you can do this on an automated schedule.
What This
Seminar is NOT
Most
Internet seminars consist of a series of 90-minute, “information-lite”
presentations that are really product pitches. Six, eight, ten speakers,
one right after another. A circus. This is no such animal.
My
customers expect more from me than that. There would not possibly
time for a series of product pitches at this seminar, because we’ve
got a lot of work to do.
* Email industry inside terms i.e. throttle, bounce, click through, track-able links, bulk mail, junk mail, spam, spam arrest, reputation, open rates, blocking, spam traps, unsubscribe, rate limiting, seed list, white list etc… how they affect you
* Subject Lines that get results without being flagged
* Opt-in, Double Opt-in and Email Confirmation
* How does or when can you get fined?
* ICANN Compliance
* IP & ISP standards for AOL, YAHOO, GMAIL and MSN.
* How fast can you improve deliverability rates?
David will also explain Infusion Software and its features (it’s what I use to manage my shopping cart, affiliate and email delivery functions) and yes there will be an opportunity to sign up. You will not be relentlessly pitched by any means.
Perry,
I'm willing to bet you have never
received a letter like this from one of your clients.
I just returned from 3 weeks in
Greece and Spain and you sent this out 2 days after I left. I
saw it when I checked my email in Mykonos but waited to reply till now.
You know my business.
I already knew that I could take
3-week trips to Europe and my business would do just fine. Of
course, I would check my email every day (I don't bring my laptop anymore...
I either use the internet room in the hotel or a local internet café)
and respond to any "emergencies" but that was about all it
took.
However, the ultimate test was
when I went 3 months without email... indeed 3 months without the internet
or even a computer... courtesy of the American taxpayer in federal prison!
I have never discussed this with you but March 30-June 28, 2007 I spent in the federal prison camp in Pensacola. Long story but basically I was a little too aggressive in some of my data collections methods and got the attention of the FBI (!) and next thing I know I'm being indicted and sent to prison (not to mention the $700K in legal fees and $150K in restitution.. ouch!).
Pen.jpg
I prepared for my little ‘vacation’
as best I could and, you know what, my business ran just fine without
me. I made just as much money in prison as I did OUT of prison.
Plus my personal expenses were a lot less! :) I had no access
to the internet whatsoever for 3 months.... I had my customer support
girl in Florida answering phone calls and emails... that's it.
I was able to talk to her occasionally to find out how my sales were
doing but I really couldn't do much to run my business.
My wife continued to live her life
(minus me of course) just as she did before. I did not suffer
from any of the collateral consequences that many ex-inmates suffer
from (such as difficulty finding employment... I decided not to fire
myself).
And I also found a new calling...
writing about life in prison and our bizarre federal legal system.
I started a blog (www.60733066.com)
a week before I entered prison (60733-066 was my inmate id #).
I spent about $5K in Google ads during my 3 months in prison to drive
traffic. I would write my observations on paper and send them
to my wife who would then enter them to the blog. Once I got out,
I was able to continue it myself. I think you might find it rather
interesting reading. Of course you have start at the end to start
at the beginning since the posts are in reverse chronological order.
