Interview #1 of 2 – with Brandon

This was a GREAT interview. Its about 15 min. It tells a story of how Brandon and his partners spent $2,000 failed miserably, tried again with a new approach and succeeded wildly with Facebook. Now he’s getting clicks 1/3 the cost of Google, and they’ve made lots of money, on a nice increase in traffic.

Great interview. Thanks for the info. I’ve been having difficulty having FB approve ads related to the home based business industry. I think sending traffic to a fan page is a terrific idea.

I concur. It took me a while to get through to them that I wasn’t setting up get rich quick stuff. (I did a real estate interview series). But Once I put in a complaint about the disapproval, explaining what I was doing. They re-approved, but it took almost a week, and they told me it was disapproved by mistake.

What made me mad is that I went back and changed the target audience to a smaller group, and it was disapproved again! It took them another week to re-approve, telling me it was disapproved by mistake.

I’m really digging what Perry and these guys are doing. I am excited to get all the info so I don’t have to put so much sweat hours in figuring it out :) . I tried another marketer’s system and it was really lacking.

    Two awesome interviews…

The hardest part about Facebook was getting through the stigma of selling on Social Networks which is seen as uncool…

But people are people and you can still push their hot buttons…

What a insightful interview thank you. I think this will be a must for my business thank you.

    Martin Percival @ 8:36 am

This is great information….I’m one of the many that has dabbled with FB advertising and lost some money. I’m grateful that I made a couple of sales – it offset the pain a bit :-)

I already own your Google ads book, so I’m looking forward to this new channel.

first the internet changed the world, then google changed the world, and now facebook is changing the world.
thanks for those inspiring, educational interviews.

    Shock Marketer @ 10:55 am

Yeah, the targeting options on Facebook are top-notch. And, the new ‘like’ button is really gathering more targeting options on users.

    Best Psychic @ 1:06 pm

I’ve been using Facebook for advertising directly to a sales page for the past 3 months with great results (about 100%).

I’ve known about sending traffic to a FanPage for a while, but haven’t done it yet. I’ve read that you can make it HTML-friendly, with capture form and all, but they make it sound difficult (probably so they can sell you some product).

  8. Facebook Ads is one of those places where I would like to break into, and the new targeting features available make it an absolute must for any marketer willing to give it a go.

Obviously the training that you would offer via your coaching program would massively help in fast tracking towards successful campaigns.

Facebook ads have been an interesting animal for us. These interviews are really powerful. Simple strategy that make sense. Good to have some feedback from people who have done it wrong like we have and then tweaked it to something fantastic. Just saved us a bunch of time and money, thanks.

    Beth @ 5:17 pm

Watched the videos and am amazed that you are getting clicks at 20 + cents, I am paying $1.00 plus! What am I doing wrong!!

    Connie @ 9:21 pm

This is very impressive. Very few people might not know this trick to put ad on facebook.

Google Hit Man @ 11:54 pm

    Granville @ 10:54 pm

Impressive, but for an absolute beginner like myself:-

THE PRIMARY QUESTION IS: “WHAT SHOULD I SELL?”

    Paul Kemp @ 7:21 pm

Very interesting. I want to learn more. Thanks for the info.

    Wim @ 3:05 pm

This is really intriguing! I’ve kind of pulled back from adwords etc, partly ’cause I couldn’t figure out a niche, and partly ’cause I moved to work in Africa, where online marketing (particularly getting paid) isn’t a simple propositiion.
As for Facebook, I’ve joined mainly for personal & social contacts. I’m not at ease with opening my “inner” circle to a more general ‘crowd’ of people I don’t know. So: do I set up a (set of) seperate Facebook accounts that don’t mix the very personal with other groups I might want to market to?
I’d love to hear something on this issue.

      Drew @ 12:52 pm

      Wim,

NO! This is a violation of the Facebook TOS. You need to do your marketing through your personal account.

      Drew
