Content Advertising in Gmail + the Gmail "Funbox"
People sometimes ask me how to target Gmail as a placement in the Content Network.
This video shows you how:
Also, there's a premium placement in Gmail called the "Funbox". You can target your ads specifically for that spot. The last minute of this video tells you how to do that too.

Google's "Funbox" is the blue area below the search box.
Cool beans! Thanks to Austin Lau from Google for making this video. And thanks to Shelley Ellis for bringing it to my attention.

Awesome video you dug up there perry, I truly appreciate it. Gmail can one of those things that works like gangbusters, or is a flop, but this one more way to target it.
Nice! Quick question, how is CPC bid value calculated for the funbox is it based on the max cpc you set or similar to the auction model or some other algorithmic broth!
It's the auction model, just like all other slots in AdWords.
Wow that's great. I had no idea you could do that. Adwords is so much more than just saerch PPC these days.
Now if only I wasnt banned from adwords I could use that strategy! Wonder if you can do this for hotmail…
Thank you a lot for this video Perry, i am going to try targeting gmail, you gave us so much useful tips, well done.
Hi Perry – I've set it up but can't seem to get any clicks. I also have the bidding on auto. Any one able to get it to work (get traffic that is)?
