And it’s not like your list of things ever gets smaller. ‘Cuz now there’s not only the core marketing elements like pay per click and email and web pages, split testing, market research, USP’s and guarantees.
Not to mention the fabulous parade you’re afraid you’ll miss if you’re not also up on power video posting, podcasting, Kaboodle, Slashdot, Wordpress [hey that reminds me, aren’t you falling behind on your blogging???], product launch formulas and the latest affiliate crusher software.
Oh yeah, and the new world-beating Internet Riches system that’s being taken down at 4pm today and will never be seen again. Oops, their website just “crashed” which means – lucky you – you’ll get another email tomorrow letting you know that they’ve opened the doors again for a few precious hours. (One last time before it vanishes forever.)
Yeah. Uh-huh. Whatever.
Most of that is crap and will get you nowhere. If you look carefully you’ll see the dead bodies strewn by the side of the road.
But anyway – between the stuff you know you "should be” doing and all the other stuff you’re afraid you might need to do, it’s hard to stare at the whole list without slipping into a state of paralysis. You say to yourself, “My head hurts. I think I’m just going to go check my email again.”
A new email comes in with some new proclamation and the cycle begins anew.
Today all that is going to change.
I’m going to greatly simplify all that and lift a big burden from your shoulders.
First thing you need to know:
Most of the list of things you’re “supposed to do” is just distractions. You can run a multi-million dollar business without most of it. I know I have. (I can count the number of marketing newsletters I allow into my email box on ONE HAND. If you’re getting more than that, you need to unsubscribe from a bunch of people who are wasting your precious time.)
Second thing you need to know:
The core elements of direct marketing have not changed and will never change.
In my experience, the foundation of a powerful online business has six systems in place. Just six:
- Market Research
- Expert Pay Per Click campaign
- Conversion Tracking
- Split testing system for sales and opt-in pages
- Seductive copy
- Email follow-up (Autoresponders)
That’s it. Just six. You can build a $1 million business, or in some markets, a $10 million business, with just those six things. All else is bells and whistles. The other sources of traffic are gravy and serve to expand your empire beyond its foundations.
You might already have good SEO, a blog, banner ads and whatever else, and that’s fine. But if you are absent any of these six things you’re leaving all kinds of money – LOTS of money – on the table. If you’re futzing around with anything else before the SIX are in place, you’re squandering precious time. Competitors are breathing down your neck and all the DIGG bookmarks in the world won’t save you.
There’s just one problem with the six essentials:
They’re all friggin’ complicated and every single one is harder than it sounds.
