From $25,000 per month to $76,000 per month in three months:
Joshua Boswell actually didn’t join our Bobsled Run until week 4, but he came to the 4-Man Intensive, worked hard, implemented fast, and took the top prize for stellar results.
Here are some basic dollar growth numbers for our business in 2008:
| Month | Orders | Gross Revenue |
| January | 396 | $25,440.35 |
| February | 459 | $29,365.90 |
| March | 684 | $53,953.92 |
| April | 945 | $76,847.40 |
Grand Total: 2484 orders; $185,607.57.
So, February as the baseline, our growth looks something like $72,069.52.
Now, these following numbers are even more exciting to me. Look at the average amount our customers spend, per order:
January: $64.24
February: $63.97
March: $78.88
April: $81.32
Not only did our orders go up, but their average value increased as well. How cool is that? We added one quick upsell and that made the difference.
Oh, and did I mention that we are only just starting? This pansy business currently, all told, is around $150,000. It will be at least $500,000 a month by this time next year or I’ll eat crow!”

$38,000 Increase in Sales from January to April
From Feb 1st to April 30th, our ROI for all the campaigns have been about 411%. Prior to the Bobsled run, we made zero sales from Google Adwords. From Feb to the end of April, we generated 433 sales for a total value of a little over $34,000 all via Adwords.
In terms of sales growth, compared to our sales in January 2008, our sales in April increased by $38,158.63 over January!
We could not be happier with the results of the Bobsled Run and feel we are just barely scratching the surface of the potential of our business. The Bobsled Run was about a lot more than just Adwords, for us we learned about copywriting, customer psychology, different ways to market our product. We met some great people at the Gladiator Club and at your home.
Thank you Perry and Howie and Bryan for creating this great resource and really going the extra mile to help us. We are looking forward to seeing you later this month and looking forward to continued success with our marketing campaigns.

Record Breaking Sales, Top Distributor in the World, $26,000 Annual Savings:
I have individual google campaigns’ CTRs hitting 15%-plus, which I have never achieved before.
The most significant single thing i have learnt is “Search Query Reports” With everything else i know “search Query Reports” will pay for my course 10 times over. Search Query reports with Peel and Stick have taken some of my keywords at $5.00 down to as low as $1.00, as the CTR goes through the roof. $14.00 keywords have gone down to $6-7.
In week 2 was my largest single sale closed without me visiting the customer: $48,200. The previous record was around $35k. And I am currently on holidays. Having the ability to close sales of this size while on holidays with the kids is priceless.
Achieving 39 sales leads in one week was another highlight.
Just 2 years and 4 months ago I sacked my sales team that was costing me $250k and creating 7-10 sales leads per week. What they achieved in one week i am now achieving in one day.
Our Software Developer came to meet with us during this 12-week course. They informed us we sold more product in Febuary 2008 than any other distributor worldwide (and they wanted to know what was going on!).
32 of my text Ads have now hit 3% or higher, with 13 of them now pulling better than 9%. Before the Bobsled run i was lucky to have 2 or 3 over 3%. This change in my campaigns will pay for the Bobsled course ten times over.
I have significantly increased my clicks and lowered my costs. This i am sure is a direct result of the efforts over the past 12 weeks. With my clicks increasing my spend dropped just over $500 this week. A potential annual saving of $26,000, which also almost pays for the Bobsled course ten times over!”

90 Days: Grew Monthly Sales by $55,000, Cut Sales Cost by 31%, Boosted
Conversions 316%, and Outgrew Their New Warehouse.
In June, Chocoley (which had been a little home-based online chocolate company) took a huge leap by signing a 3 year lease for an office/warehouse that we hoped we would eventually grow into. And then, for the rest of the summer, we held our breath. We were scared to death that we’d taken too big of a step, not knowing how long it would take to be making enough money to afford our new lease commitment.
Then, along came the Bobsled Run and Perry Marshall. Steve and Nicole signed up – desperate for the investment to pay off – so that our move didn’t end up being the biggest mistake the business would ever make. Three months later we’re enjoying the rewards of following our instincts and taking the financial risks of our move and the Bobsled Run course. We’ve been working so hard and running so fast, just trying to keep up with the new flood of business that has been pouring in thanks to Perry Marshall.
From giving us ways to drastically improve our Google AdWords campaigns and website, to inspiring new business development ideas, to motivating us to actually take the time to act in areas we already knew we should be working on (but weren’t because we needed someone on the outside to tell us how important it really is), the Bobsled Run has taken us to a place we never imagined 3 months ago. Suddenly we no longer need to grow into our new office/warehouse. We’ve grown out of it!
- ThecurrentDecember conversion rate is a 70% increase over the month with the highest conversion rate prior to the Bobsled Run.
- Ifyou lookat the number of Google conversions during an average 15 days of May (the month with highest number of Google conversions prior to course) compared to the number of conversions during the first 15 days of December, there was a 316%
- increaseinthe number of conversions.
- If you look at the cost per Google conversion in September (the month with the lowest cost per conversion prior to course) compared to the cost per conversion so far in December, there was a 31% decrease in the cost per conversion.
- Becauseofthis course, in October we exceeded April (our previous best month) by $2,290. October had been one of our worst months in ’06. In November we did $25,553 more than in April! And it gets even more exciting… We are on track for a month with $55,259 MORE sales than our best month EVER prior to this course!!!!!!!!!
Three months later, we can say without a doubt that this course has been a catalyst to success. And it’s only the beginning.”

Baby on the way, wife wants to come home from work… Scrapping entrepreneur enters Bobsled Run & ratchets his sales from $25,600/month to over $42,000/month in two months
When I came on board and signed up for the Bobsled Run, it was just like you say, “your wife thinks your crazy for spending “that kind of money” on a dream.” However, I already knew that online business works great. We had pretty good limited success in the past and I just needed the “meat” instead of the “milk” that I had been reading and learning about for so long. Well, Perry, you definitely delivered the goods in my book.
I went into the Bobsled Run with high hopes and expectations because of some of the other testimonies in the previous Runs. They stated 5X increases and so forth. I was pretty skeptical about our business making a 5X increase in so short a time. But, I could live with a 2X increase. I actually said to my Wife, “If we can get a 2X increase in the next few months, then keep growing it from there, you wouldn’t have to go back to work in the Fall.” (background: my wife is a school teacher). Talk about pressure.
In January, just before the Bobsled Run started, you sent out an email to help us get our Google Campaigns to look good and do the Peel and Stick method. I did that the day after I got the email, so I had about 10 days in January with the new Peel and Stick setup and had our biggest month ever by $1400 dollars.
- Previously,November was our biggest month ever at over $24,000. That was a goodmonth.
- However, Januarytopped it at $25,600.
- Feb:over $30,000 (we finally broke the $30,000 a month level!!! My wifeand I knew that once we broke this level, we could do some serious things for our lifestyle, and not just reinvest a lot back into the business.)
- March: $42,000.This was huge and aboutdoubled what we were making before. We did it in only 2 real months of work.
- April:At the point of this writing, it is Apr 23,07 and we have a whole weekleft in the month and we will break the March record of $42,000. Over this past weekend, we took in $3000 in new orders.
We have projections to be over $60,000 to $70,000 a month in under 5 months as our Conversion Rate keeps going up and we are spending the same amount on PPC. Needless to say, my wife is not going back to work in the fall. Which is a good thing.
I took a breather these last few weeks. Just this last week Apr 19, 07 my wife gave birth to our third child. A little baby girl. Her older siblings greeted her into the family with love. Through all this, I couldn’t help thinking that because of the Bobsled Run with Perry Marshall, my wife won’t have to work outside the house anymore. This was a major 5 year goal for us. In the end, it came down to good knowledge put into practice and 2-3 months of implementing the systems in our business.
Howie and Bryan have been great too. The whole experience has been taxing on the energy, but well worth it. I can’t wait to tell you where I am in 6 months from now.

Every week I am making it better. I’m tracking, I’m testing. I’m split testing. I’m peeling and sticking. I’m testing landing pages. I’m killing ads that don’t perform well and testing them with new ones. Doing this process alone puts me way ahead of the competition. Here are some of my latest stats:
| Month | Sales | Orders |
| Jan | £8,347.40 or $16,400USD | Jan – 91 |
| Feb sales | £12,539.05 or $24,650 USD
this is about 50 % in sales from Jan |
Feb orders – 166
82% increase in orders from Jan and pre -run. |
| March sales | £ 30,792.45 or $61,647USD
this is about 368 % increase in sales from Jan sales |
March orders – 396
435 % increase in orders from pre -run |
| April sales – Up to April 24 | £ 24,001.45 or $42,048.00 USD
That is with 7 days of being out of the office on holidays |
April orders – 288
People are spending more per order than March |
Google Campaign Performance: 6X The Traffic
| Google Clicks | Google Spend | CTR | Average CPC |
| January 3,144 | $2020.00 USD | 1.78% | $0.67 USD |
| February 12,196 | $4607.00 USD | 3.73% | $0.38 USD |
| March 20,179 | $8,057.00 USD | 3.88% | $0.40 USD |
| April 1-24 22,077 | $7,765.00USD | 4.36% | $0.36 USD |
This course has been a whirlwind of information. I have told Perry that to me a successful business follows processes and is not some kind of magic like so many “gurus” want you to believe. I have looked at my time studying in the course as a process of learn, implement, tweak. Learn, implement, tweak. Learn, implement, tweak. It is working. And I am grateful for the information.

Jazz Musician Masters Pay Per Click, and a $10 Million Business Grows Profits An Additional 18% in Six Months:
“See the attached report created from our REAL company stats that shows an 18% increase in net PROFIT over the last 6 months (since I signed up for Perry’s bobsled run 12 week course…hmm.. coincidence?) And for anyone who thinks this stuff just works for guinea pig supplies or other minor “niche” markets maybe I should mention that the actual # ‘s used to create that % graph are all 7-10 figure #’s

Actually after just 2 weeks into Perry’s Bobsled course we had our first big winner using some of Perry’s techniques.
My ‘secret’ goal this past quarter was really to get PPC to such an extreme level that they’d finally have to say “Greg, that’s enough, (“she canna’ take anymore capt’n!”) we need to start looking at something else to do with all these visitors!.”
That day has finally arrived… Yesterday I spent $24,495 on Google Adwords. The call center is overloaded, product is out of stock… MISSION ACCOMPLISHED! “Greg, we need to change our foucus” our company president (now partner!) finally said.
Now my boss finally listens to me when I say things like “So I hear some companies use this email list thing I’ve heard so much about to actually make money too!” or “Ever heard of something called a social network?”
To be fair, he’s known where were going with all this too but the quick fix from those big PPC profits is a tough habit to kick. It was just a matter of reaching that “close enough to the edge” point to finally turn around and see what else we could do (besides go off the deep end) On to phase 2 then… and back to the “Dream Team” of Internet Marketing for some more heaping helpings of wisdom and advice. You are all true Geniuses in the really down to earth true kind of way.
The people I work with think I’m kind of a genius too, but the only real genius I needed to be successful in internet marketing was knowing who to listen to and what ideas of their’s to fuse together for my needs. That, I learned from my old Jazz Sax teacher when I was just 17! I haven’t needed much else when I just do that.”

Here are some results I have after joining your program.
I’m selling a clickbank product which hadn’t been doing a great deal for months. Your course looked like what I needed to give it a zap.
I’ve been a bit of a lazy boy sometimes and haven’t done everything I should, but I have done a few of just the core things you suggested and the results are good…. actually, they’re pretty amazing. It’s surprising how much money you can find in a small niche. Definitely enough not to worry about having to get a J.O.B.!
I think showing you pictures of my results is going to do better than some words.
Here are my clickbank fortnightly paychecks…ever increasing….
Paychecks

And a graph of my customer growth each month (March still has a few days left
)….
Customers

Well, my eye looks like March is over 3 times what January was. And December – well I can just
laugh, 500% increase, not bad!
The crazy part is, well I have been lazy, which is good in a way…. imagine all the money I still have left on the table. I’m sure I can still double or triple what I have without too much sweat. I know what to do, now I will just get it done.

Killer Results in a Hyper-Competitive Market
(Bidding against 700+ rivals on AdWords, and only the top 11 advertisers get to appear on the first page)
“I gotta say, I was a real doubting Thomas.
I am in a HYPER-competitive market of work at home business opportunities. Many of my keywords were in excess of $3.00 a click for positions 1-3.
I was going through a hockey-sock full of money each month with little reward, but I did it because as an online marketer, I felt obligated to at least TRY and make it work.
You see, I was throwing BIG money away on AdWords (sometimes $500.00 a day) and pitifully trying to convince myself that some day a little pay-per-click fairy will come and magically transform my campaigns into winners.
On a great day I might break even.
Eventually, even the mention of AdWords gave me a sore stomach and a lump in my throat.
To be quite specific, I was at times spending $100.00 to make $50.00. I did little except tweak a campaign here, or add a keyword or two there.
Mostly I just paused my campaigns when I couldn’t bear to deal with it anymore, and resume them when I thought the pay-per-click fairy might have visited…lol.
Then, I bought your Definitive Guide, didn’t read it and came to the staggering conclusion that you didn’t know what you were talking about.
My Google Results? Still pathetic.
Then I thought I would give you a second chance and actually read the book. But didn’t implement any of it.
My Google Results? Still pathetic….lol.
Then I implemented just a few of your general tips and saw a marked improvement. The I received an email about your Accelerated Gold Program.
I was satisfied that my trip to Chicago to be mentored by you was either my last attempt at AdWords, or my first success.
After all, I was squandering far more than the cost of your coaching each month on AdWords, not to mention how much I wasn’t making by not having a good AdWords campaign working for me.
I wanted to settle the AdWords mystery once and for all in my head.
Thanks to the Bobsled Run even though I am an extremely lazy beast by nature, I have implemented just a few of the suggested changes and now I have keywords that actually return $20.00 for every $2.00 that I invest, and every single one of my campaigns are profitable!
No loser campaigns left in my AdWords stall.
I know I can still improve my CTRs by using custom domain names, and laser-targeted landing pages, and I am working on it. I hope to be able to release a summary of suggested terms, keywords and ads that will work for my affiliates too!
Imagine…and American showing a Canadian how to bobsled….go figure!
Thank you Perry!

I am estimating (not had a chance to crunch the numbers properly yet) that we have had a 30% increase at least in the past 14 days, without any significant increase in traffic to the site (our PPC CTR averages around 11%, with many ad groups getting 60%+).
Conversions have increased from 1.5% to over 6% in the past four months. CTR is highest in the industry. Everything very cool.
The course is paid for, the trip to Chicago is paid for, the business is beautiful. In the words of one your country’s least culturally valuable exports, “I’m lovin’ it!”

Negative $2500 per month
to
Positive $9,000 per month
I started the AdWords Coaching Course as a battered and bruised AdWords neophyte, no longer optimistic, a little angry – and very confused as to why I was losing money at an alarming rate using AdWords.
At week 1 of the course, I had a site that was actually losing me around $2,500 / month, because my sales revenues were not matching my Google expenses.
What happened next was truly amazing to a skeptical engineering type like me. Over the course of the first month, I was able to DOUBLE the sales conversion of my traffic, once it was arriving at my sales page. I suddenly became profitable! ‘See honey – this Google AdWords stuff really works!!’ I was able to turn the rate for two of my best keywords from an average 1.5% click thru rate, to an astounding 10.5% click thru rate by the end of the 8 week course!! 10.5%!! That’s huge!! I ended up with an average click thru rate of 2.5% for all of my keywords – over 2 X better than when I started!!
What does this mean in monetary terms? Well, I started with 2,000 clicks / day, giving me a LOSS of $2,500 / month on the site. I managed to increase my sales conversion rate by 3.8 X my original. I increased my traffic to around 4,000 clicks / day. I am now on target for a PROFIT of over $9,000 / month for this sales page – and MORE, once I start branching out beyond Google to other forms of advertising!!!

This customer doesn’t want his Real Estate rivals to know his real name so I’m just going to call him “Mr. X”:
I set up my web site about 15 months ago. We implemented your changes and now get about 20-25 sign ups – over 100% increase for no extra costs
We have started to improve the sales process and have sold approximately 50% more properties than before. We currently convert about 1 in 20 to a sale whereas in the past it was 1 in 30.
- An increase of £15k per month ($27,600) due to increase in traffic
- Conversion increase due to telesales £10k ($18,400) per month
- Platinum Membership £15000 ($27,600) per month
That’s a total of £40k ($73,600) per month. In our first month of implementing changes, our sales have doubled and we expect increase as outlined above.
All in all this should translate into a further £25k ($46,000) per month profits.
You have taught me to think outside the box, and we are now using new methods in our marketing mix to really make a difference to our business. Thanks, Perry!
Took in an additional $10,000 almost immediately:
“You gave me a great tip on lead generation and positioning. Result: 15 new leads and a consulting engagement worth $10,000. And this
is only the start – this could really launch me into personal independence from my job. This also gave me a weekly reason to get off my ass and execute something – everybody needs that now and then.”
-Scott Braden,

Increased his profit by almost $5,000 per month:
“I have increased the amount of traffic to my site by over 400 clicks per day, and I’ve increased my opt-in rate from 3% to 12%. For me this means an extra 4 sales a day, which is an extra $160.00 per day in profits.”
-David Nevogt,
St. Charles, IL
450% improvement:
“My Google click to opt-in rate has made a 450% improvement and I’m picking up 300 new emails a day. I’m getting 4-6 sales per day. I can use what I’ve learned in this course to build a consultancy for my fiance and myself too. I’m truly thankful for this coaching program.

Doubles sales in 2 months, 30X in one year:
I started with a 9% conversion of visitors to leads, and we increased conversion to 24.5%. Our most targeted groups of keywords are converting at around 40%. The result is increased of visitors to leads by over 160%. Our sales have increased nearly 50% since we started the coaching program. My estimate is that we will double our business within the next 2 months.
-Conrad Feagin,

[One year later Conrad's business had increased 30X]
From negative $15,000 to positive $16,000:
February and March are the slowest months for our business. Yet, due in large part to you, Perry, we have been profitable the last few months. To give you an example, in February 2004 (Pre-Perry), we lost $15,959.78. In February 2005 (Post-Perry) we were profitable $16,059.91. In March ’04, it was negative $13,964.56 and March ’05 it is at plus $5,227.22 as of today with a $8,000 to $10,000 check coming on Thursday via direct deposit.
These are real numbers. Without question, this class and the materials I have obtained have been the best business investments I have ever made. I can hardly wait to see what you will come out with next.

From $5,000/month to $100,000 a month in 10 months:
These are my results, they speak for themselves – here’s what happened since I started working with you at the end of December:
Dec: $5,000 online
Jan: $10,000 online
Feb: $15,000 online
Mar: $21,000 online
April: $25,000 online
And in October I crossed the $100,000 mark. I’ve made so many optimization changes based on your recommendation it’s hard to keep track.
Each piece of advice made a positive difference, from something as simple as reducing the size of my site masthead and improving the download speed, to dissecting my conversion process in detail and then reconstructing it.

3X newsletter signups & 15 minute change earns extra $39,745 in ONE promotion:
We already tripled our newsletter leads with AdWords, and another tip on your private call will help us grab another 1/3.
We launched a new 17-DVD video program smack in the middle of your course. Talk about bad timing…or so I thought.
We put up a long-copy sales letter. But listening to you harp on a call about “nobody tests even when I tell them to”, I go, “Oops, that’s me.”
So I take 15 minutes and create a totally different combo. Next day… both versions are neck-and-neck. By day two, new one’s ahead by 21%. Day 3 the new version’s converting 37.5% better than original. After more than 450 visitors ‘vote’, we pull the plug on the old version. It loses by 58.4%!
The dollars: At the $616 average sale price, that’s $107,800 total sales. We’d have gotten only $68,055 had we stuck with the first version, something that would have happened before your AdWords course.
That’s $39,745 we scooped up by implementing a simple, 15-minute change! Pays for the course… like, 10 times over.
Plus roll the numbers forward as we sell the next 250 sets… we’re easily looking at a +$100k impact this year for this one product.
You, Howie and Bryan hammer it on the calls…we all too easily forget the power of the simple stuff.

I ‘Bobsledded’ my business and made $19,346.54 in 12 weeks… and I have $10,020 more in pending sales that should go through in the next 16 days.
I wrote 2 auto-responder series and 2 opt-in offers, all with tools I learned from the coaching course.
Next, I took my pathetic attempt at an Adwords campaign (for these training programs) and “Bobsledded” the hell out of it.
I immediately cut my ad budget from $750/month to $125/month. And here’s the best part: this took me about 3 hours, tripled my traffic, and doubled the quality of my leads.
I say double to be conservative, but I used to bid on the stupidest keywords you can imagine (like 1,000 random terms), so now, my leads are probably 3 or 4 times more valuable at a fraction of the cost.
Here’s what else I did:
- Installed Google Analytics on all my Web sites
- Created hover ads to build my lists
- Developed 2white paper offers to drive opt-ins
- Installedconversion tracking on all my sites for sales ANDopt-ins
-Prospects are now emailing me! I went from receiving 1 or 2 emails a month to receiving 6-14 emails a day from highly- motivated clients, baited by auto-responders, and on the verge of a buying decision.
-For the first time EVER, prospects are calling me! In my business, if someone calls you, there’s about a 50/50 chance they’ll buy, and no one has ever called me before. Never!
Now, people are calling, setting up appointments, asking questions, and buying-on the phone! This is incredible.
-People started thanking me for sending them emails! These are auto-responders, mind you, and I send them in droves! Perry just kept saying, “the cash is in the list,” so I honed my emails until I go them right-and it’s really paid off!
Here are two of my favorite responses to my auto-responder series (I get dozens like this):
“I feel supported by your emails and grateful too. The reminders keep me
aware of trying and doing…. I wish you a blessed 2008 and give gratitude
to you for sharing and guiding and supporting us little underlings. I will
support your program in 2008 as I get more into yoga….Thank you.”
“It is so great to hear from you and to know that I am a part of your club.
I feel blessed. Thank you. I am still trying to put together some funds so

-I’m getting job offers! My colleagues and competitors who never paid much attention to me before are now offering me work. I don’t have time for this, but it’s always nice to have options.
-I’ve met 2 strategic partners from the coaching group that I’m collaborating with on a series of future projects that will generate sales within 4 weeks.
-My WORST landing pages get 20% opt-ins, and my best come in over 30%.
-The average time spent on my Web site went from 01:24 to over 04:30. Why? It’s simple: better keywords, better ads, better landing pages-all things Bobsled taught me.
-I Improved my Quality Score from Poor, to Great/Good on over 200 keywords simply by printing out all of Perry’s tips and tricks PDFs and studying them like war plans.

From Little in the Bank to Diversified with $182K in Equity in 12 Weeks…
I have been running like a chicken with its head cut off implementing everything that I learned. I got off to a really slow start in the program (or so I thought). When I had my first two private coaching calls with Bryan, I didn’t even have an active Google campaign up and running. Bryan asked for the login information for my Google account and I was embarrassed to tell him that I didn’t have anything running right now. I thought for sure that I was going to have to take Perry up on his money back guarantee…
I felt very behind at the time. But looking back, I was still working hard starting everything from scratch. See, I’m a perfectionist by nature. I had a website before the Bobsled Run, but it was the glitzy flash site that I have now grown to realize is worthless (but I love to see when my competitors have them!). I didn’t want to be sending traffic to a website that was half finished or wasn’t exactly what I wanted. So I took the first few weeks of the program putting together a website with over 100 pages of content…good content too. Now on to the good stuff…
When I actually had the time to start other things…man did I get rolling. Here’s what I implemented…
Direct Mail
I compiled a highly targeted list and mailed a postcard with the offer “I’ll Buy Your House in 5 Days or I’ll Give You $1000!” The response was amazing! (Well, for me anyways). I got a 5% response rate on that card. In the past, my best response rate was somewhere around an abysmal 0.5%. And the funny thing is…it’s not like we even talked much about direct mail in this program. Perry did, however, stress the importance of using other mediums to advertise other than Google Adwords. I got the idea for the postcard from the ever famous “Corns Gone in 5 Days or Money Back” that you used as an example in one of your books. The power is definitely in groups. Talking and interacting with people on your same wavelength enabled me to come up with some really creative stuff. So anyways, here are the numbers from the cards:
Mailed to 97 People
5 Responses
5.16% Response Rate
2 of the Responses Turned into Deals
I ended up buying 2 properties and gained $52K in equity!
Total investment:
$174.60 Postcards (mailed 3 times to each name)
About 6 hours of my time researching and compiling the list
I’m also in the process of putting together a multi-step direct mail campaign with lots of creative ideas that will hopefully blow my local competition out of the water!
Now…onto the Google adwords stuff… I realized that Google is probably not the best place for me to be advertising when I purchase houses (because I purchase a specific kind of house, with specific situations)… This is not a bad thing… It forced me to try other methods of marketing (like the postcards) instead of sitting there trying to make something work that clearly wasn’t.
However, I do use Google to sell the homes that I have in inventory. There is not much traffic for my keywords (I focus on offering owner financing to potential buyers…I don’t work with the general public)…but I still have some awesome CTR’s:
My best keyword has a 11.76% CTR
My worst keyword has a 6.66% CTR
I am also experimenting with selling other niche eBooks. I just recently started running one of those campaigns and here are my numbers:
My best keyword has a 15.97% CTR
My worst keyword has a 5.00% CTR
I’m looking at these numbers and I can’t believe them myself. When I first started these campaigns, my CTR’s were in the 1-2% range and I would have been happy with getting them up to 5% (which seemed reasonable based on all of your examples, etc.)…But I never imagined that I would see CTR’s in the double digits. It REALLY IS all about the testing.
I don’t have all good news though…with the eBook that I just started selling, I’m not getting any sales. The CTR’s look great (AVG 7.64%), Opt-in rate is great (23%)…but I just can’t seem to get any sales. I’m going to be creating some new sales letters and start split testing those. We’ll see how it goes. This eBook is not related to my main area of real estate…I am just seeing if I can have some relatively steady income coming in month after month.
I have put the eBook thing on hold for the present moment because it was taking too much time away from my main business…I will tweak the sales letter and offer a little later.
Is it a bad thing that I keep hearing your advice in my head Perry? The piece of advice that keeps ringing in my head is that I have to diversify my marketing and not depend on only one or two lead generation techniques.
Since my last submission, I have accomplished much in terms of diversification. I added bandit signs and telemarketing to my marketing program. Bandit signs are those annoying signs that investors post all over the place “We Buy Houses.” Heck…they are even annoying to me…but they really do work. 100 signs posted and in a week I received 17 calls. I hired someone to do telemarketing for me (For Sale by Owner Listings, For Rent Listings, Realtor Listings, etc.). This isn’t going as well as I expected so I’m tweaking the script and I may need to try a telemarketer with actual real estate experience. It’s a work in progress. Since my last submission, I have also developed a killer direct mail campaign that paid me dividends already. I used my “I’ll Buy Your House in 5 Days or I’ll Give You $1000″ message and bombarded potential customers with 5 different direct mail pieces in 10 days and received a 9% response rate. I don’t really want to go into detail too much…but the direct mail pieces involved a USPS Priority Mail package, a really odd shaped package, 2 postcards, and a 9″x12″ first class mail package.
I used the lumpy mail idea for the actual packages. From the new direct mail campaign, I ended up purchasing 5 houses that gained me over $130K in equity (and that’s realistic equity too…). That puts me at creating over $180K in equity through your program!
I was thinking about throwing in the Dan Kennedy garbage can direct mail piece but I was too cheap…I’ll keep that in mind for future direct mail campaigns (and after I sell some of these houses).
I have also been experimenting with free marketing as well (Craigslist, etc.) and that has been working better than I expected. I offer free reports for sellers that need to sell fast. Anything I get from these sources is gravy because it doesn’t cost me a dime (besides a little time of course).
I am currently working on getting buyers financed to purchase 2 of these houses and when I sell them…I will see $45K of that equity in my pocket…
To sum it all up…I have come away with so much more from this program than I ever imagined possible. I was a little weary after I signed up because I said to myself “How can we talk about Google Adwords for 12 weeks?” It wasn’t just about Google Adwords. I just received the best marketing education that I could ever get. The group I was in got me motivated (sometimes I’m a little lazy and tend to put things off…like this contest submission) and got my ass in gear.
The best thing that I got out of this program (and I know it may sound weird) is that it somehow got me thinking on so many different levels other than Google Adwords…sometimes everything but Google Adwords…and creatively at that. Since joining the program, creative ideas have been flowing rampantly through my head and they don’t seem to stop. It’s like I dream of marketing ideas. Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night to write down a killer marketing idea that I just though about (no joke)! I never realized how much there was to marketing but when you start to get the hang of it (kinda)…man does it feel goooood! I think that I might need a marketing self-help group! But seriously…thanks Perry…this was money well invested on my part!

9 “Ah-Ha!”s, Each one worth a few thousand dollars…at least
1 — Opt-In Arson – Perry, my very first live call with you was about the landing pages for my “how to become a fighter pilot” site. At that time, you recommended taking away my slide-in / dynamic pop-up and adding a opt-in landing page. Simple enough right? Well, I immediately went from a 3-5% opt-in rate to just shy of 20%. That’s 4x the subscribers….which has turned into MORE than 4x the customers over time. Can you say, “cha-ching?”
2 — Testing – After reading the Definitive Guide, I started split-testing my ads for the very first time. Employing that simple strategy coupled with long keyword silos took my average traffic from 93 clicks (1.91% CTR) during a ten-day period to 1,097 clicks (and just shy of a 5% CTR) during another ten-day period just months later. The funny thing is that I occasionally look at my old ads and wonder what life would be like if they were still running. 10X the traffic…times 4X the opt-ins… can you say 40X?
3 — Testing URLs – This is where things get really fun. I was in the midst of launching my 2nd info-product just as I was joining the Bobsled run. This one is targeted to a small niche of basketball referees. After listening to the Black Belt MP3, I set up a list of 6 urls and began testing them for my keywords and ad groups. The difference between the #1 and #6 url was a 1.44% CTR or 39.6% more traffic. Tell someone your CTR went up by 1 and a half percent, they may not be impressed. Tell them you increased your business by 40% just on a url alone…now we are talking. (Incidentally, the url that I thought would be best ended up #6…so much for trusting your intuition).
4 – Surveys – I guess I have Dr. Glenn to thank for this one, but at least you were the messengers. 2 Months before launching my 2nd info-product, I started surveying my leads. This did 2 big things. First, it helped with product development. I took the “What is your biggest challenge” question and answered it directly in the course material. Second (this is huge), I then took the same language that my leads gave me and used it right in the sales letter back to them. Thus, instead of just guessing what the conversation in their head was, I asked them to tell me about that conversation…and only then joined it! Did this work? Yes…in fact, my entire USP came almost directly from these surveys.
5 – Unlimited Traffic – I received two e-mails this week from potential competitors in both of my niches. Here are two quotes directly from their e-mails: “Take a look at the sites and let’s see if there is a way that we can work together.” The other asked, “In general is there any way that I could provide value to you?” As I look at what they both offer (which is not by and large all that different than what I am offering), I find that I can easily afford to pay them as much (or more) for a conversion than they can GROSS for one themselves.
This, of course, is due to the winner takes all Unlimited Traffic rule…which brings me to my next Ah-Ha.
6 — Price – When I started info-marketing to my first niche, I was selling an eBook for $24.95. That’s all. On an ad critique, Perry, you wrote, “I really think you need to test price here. I mean, you could get 24 dollars for an eBook or you could get $97 dollars for an eBook and a DVD.” On your urging, I have expanded that particular package to 2 Manuals, 5 CDs, and 5 Special Report for a price of $67…then $97…then $147…now $197. I tested price a few times only to find that almost every time I raised the price, conversions actually went up not down! That price increase amounts to roughly a 6.5 times multiplier to gross…which incidentally is all net. My competitors (those guys in the bullet above) are still charging $30 or less. Guess who can afford to pay more for a customer? Are we having fun yet?
7 — Going into new markets – This one I love. Perry, you’ve been talking for a few months now about your strategy for going into new markets. Test only the major keywords first, track urls, track conversions, roll out slowly, test, test, test. And then…if you are going to fail…fail fast.Well, I took your advice and guess what? I failed on one project. In total, it cost me 2 weeks of testing and less than $50. No crying…no spilt milk…next! I rolled out another project according to that model it has now grossed over $15,500 in less than a month. Yes…I am glad I am not pouring any more money or time into the failed idea. Thanks, Perry.
8 — Guarantee – Bryan helped me work on my guarantee for a sales letter two months ago on a 1 on 1 call. He referenced the very same one that signed me up for the Bobsled run. In fact, that was one of the main reasons I used to justify the price of the course. I then used a similar double-guarantee in my letter with good success. The big help Bryan provided here was helping to specifically clarify the wording on the guarantee – making it much sharper, bolder. That helped…a lot.
9 — A Little Paranoia Anyone? – This one is huge! Perry, you have been mentioning a number of times that if we are only advertising on Google a year from now, we are wrong. In fact, your Renaissance Letter just a few months ago addressed this entire issue. Well, I took your challenge and made a big pie to see where all of my traffic is coming from. Guess what I found? One piece of pie! The worst number in marketing? ONE! Since then, I have a list of new lead generators: magazines, articles, newspapers, radio, google, yahoo, msn, affiliates, speaking, direct mail, JVs. The game plan is simple: test on Google; get the numbers right; roll in out slowly to all other mediums while expanding the back-end. I’ve also added a back-up Google account, back-up shopping cart, and back-up merchant account. (“Just because you are paranoid doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get you.”) By next year at this time, my goal is for Google to account for less than 20% of my leads / customers. Great advice, Perry.
So, where are we?
4X, 40X, 40% increase, 6.5X, killing dead projects fast, surveying the market, crushing competitors by making them beg to work for you, a strong guarantee, and diversification. I’d say I got my money’s worth.
Thanks guys!

$25,000/month Sales Increase
These are details of my progress and advancements with adwords. Black text is what I implemented, red text is the result of that action …
1) Focused on top performing keywords and applied peel & stick method to all 20 ad campaigns. Achieved 5.50 CTR up from 2.32. CPC decreased from .65 to .49 (average). Achieving a lower CPC allowed us to receive more clicks with the same monthly budget. See below for growth over last year (March 06 vs. 07)
Sales for March 2006 – 1044 Transactions. Sold 3027 items and $xx,xxx.xx in sales.
Sales for March 2007 – 1459 Transactions. Sold 4192 items and $yy,yyy.yy in sales (up over 25%). [Customer asked that this data be withheld - Perry Marshall]
2) Performed Deep and Broad keyword searches and implemented new keywords that were not is as high of demand.
Was able to utilize Wordtracker and overture keyword tools to research new keywords. Was able to find an abundance of lower demand keywords that cost us .25-.35 cents per click and have already seen an increase in conversions of of these keywords that we were not using prior to the Bobsled class.
3) Accessed server logs for search strings visitors used to find our site. Added approx 35 keywords that are performing at an average of 30 cents a click which is approximately 20 cents less than the “general” keywords that I obtained from wordtracker and overture’s database.
Was able to dig out exact key phrases that customers used to find us by organic SEO. These phrases were unique as they were very specific and
not something that pulled allot of requests. ex: “books by joel osteen from lakewood church”
4) Built a PHP based admin tool that allows us to track the search patterns of visitors once they land on our site. We did this so we could utilize customer shopping habits and how they search to our benefit on SEO and Adwords.
Was able to use the search database to track popular products or in-demand items so we could increase the quality of landing pages based on the level of interest shown by how people search. Extremely useful tool for giving people what they are looking for and ultimately increasing landing page quality. Used certain search habits and keywords in adwords to see if the same results would carry over from a search engine. *** it appears that once people find our site their search keywords get a little less relevant than those on google. Ex: google search: Joyce Meyer Books and Cds; God4Me search: meyers books.
5) Realized that to low of a daily budget on campaigns yields very low impressions and does not allow the campaign to mature giving hard stats to base your next move off of. Google is able to give you the traffic but you have to be willing to take that leap of faith to spend the marketing dollars.
I had a few campaigns that had a $10 daily budget that received very little impressions but good click thru. I increased the daily budget to $100 and the impressions increased by 10 times with the same CPC of $.55 cents.
6) Modified page titles and descriptions to have a higher relevance level to adwords text ads and vice versa.
By doing this the visitor loyalty has increased from an average of 6 pages per visit to 11 pages per visit.
7) Content network campaigns; implemented 3 new campaigns for the content network only. Set a lower CPC and tested out existing high performing keywords and also tested new high impression keywords based on wordtracker and overtures monthly expected searches.
After launching this content network campaign on March 10, 2007 I have received over 100k impressions and over 700 clicks that we were not receiving prior to content network advice from Perry. One of these campaigns is performing at $36.11 Cost/Conversion
8)Re-worked landing pages. Added more relevant copy based on the products landing page offering more information for the user to research, read book reviews, submit reviews and easily buy the product they were looking for.
Added larger images of products, offered more text describing the products, simplified the checkout process for easy checkout. Increased point size of copy on headlines to attract eyes. By doing this and all of the above our Cost/Conversion has decreased dramatically .. . Prior to Perry Marshall we had a few campaigns that were pulling $192.50 Cost/Conversion .. Now we are getting $54.67 Cost/Conversion.
9) Tested the use of capitalization of display URL. god4me.com vs. God4Me.com Added a new split test ad into almost all of the campaigns utilizing capitalization of the display URL.
After 7 days the new ads with CAPS were out performing the existing ads and have almost made a complete re-work of all ads within the account. Perry’s comment to me about the word “god” most people will not click on this without it being capitalized appears to be 100% accurate.

Bobsled Tip Transformed Hiring Process
When I started the Bob Sled Run I had more leads than my team could call. My purpose was to find more talented work from home sales professionals. When I signed up I was generating about 40 leads a week. I had done $30,000 in revenue that month from my work at home sales crew.
I got beat up a lot because my site looked like an mlm site. If I had not had the group to critique it I would never have known. Then Howie told me to do one thing that has saved me 30 plus hours of work a week.
At that time I was calling the 40 leads, hiring 30 of them training them and getting results from 1. It was frustrating. He said have my recruits fax me their resume so I know they will take action and to have them address it to me so I know they can take direction and to have them provide 2 references that will verify they made $50,000 last year so I know they can close.
I did it and I’ll tell you I was scared. It took me over three weeks to get my first fax. Thanks for having the guarantee. I was really having my doubts waiting for that first fax. I thought back to the guarantee and decided I was going for it.
Thank God, Howie, and Perry Marshall I stuck to my guns because now I have hired 100% of the people who have faxed me, and we did $49,490 in revenue last week from the work at home sales crew. I Love the Bob Sled Run!
p.s. 30 hours a week times 50 weeks is 1,500 hours. That is like me hiring some one as good as I am and having them work for free. WHAT A DEAL! I’m thinking of naming my first born “Bob Sled Run” You guys totally ROCK! Go Get Em!

With all the other internet marketing programs I was always spending money and getting nowhere and it was like a carrot at the end of a stick, always just a little out of reach. Before Perry’s program, I was happy to just be making more than my ad cost and building my list. But if you compare the two months before I started the program to the two months in his program, my profits increased 168 fold.
Even by the most absolutely conservative estimate, skewing the numbers the worst possible way, my numbers still come out more than 1200% better than my very best prior month. My net profit for every click increased 50X. I’ve grown my numbers and cut my ad cost, by doing a whole lot less selling and a whole lot more relationship building.
Howard Jacobson is like an encyclopedia of marketing ideas – no matter what you come up with, he’s got more resources for you. And Bryan Todd is a great listener, and that’s not to mention all the other participants who are all very advanced marketers as well.

Grew sales from $6959 in October to $13,102 in November – During a Florida Hurricane that Destroyed His House

We are on target to have our best month ever ($25,000+) and I haven’t even had a steady place to live. I’ve been traveling the last 4 weeks to Orlando for 2 weeks, then down to Key West buying a new home. Thank you Perry for your awesome class and I mean that in more ways than one : )
Not only has the raw ‘down and dirty’ AdWords information been worth the Gold class but the marketing breakthroughs we’ve had are on many levels.
One idea Perry gave me to add to our hurricane promotion resulted in the single largest sales day ever – over $1,100 for one product in one day. Another copywriting idea he gave me shot response over 35% on a one page sales letter. The concepts he teaches go far beyond Google and AdWords.

From 3 Million to 10 Million Dollars In One Year
Being involved with Perry Marshall has generated terrific returns for the businesses that I help with Adwords and other web marketing aspects. We have built one business from being worth a couple of million dollars, maybe 3 million tops, to being a 10 million dollar enterprise.
In just over 12 months.

Jim McKinnon driving his race car in Australia
A lot of hard work in a lot of areas has lead to those results, but with some razor sharp focused Adwords and web marketing targeted by Perry Marshall principles providing a massive edge, and adding a significant percentage of the extra value.
Even more so recently – the gains during the extra boost the Bobsled program has provided look something like this in percentage terms.
1st Month Coaching
Signups Improved By 5.7%
Site Usage (We have a search based site, so defined by number of searches, views) Improved By 14.5%2nd Month Coaching
Signups Improved By 9.9% Over Previous Month
Site Usage Improved By 23.7% Over Previous Month
So at the two month mark, the real increase to this site from the application of the bobsled principles is a massive 41.6% increase in site usage, and a 14.5% increase in total signups. These are our key benchmark numbers, and these are coming off very strong base results, so we are very happy campers!
Driving fast around a race track is much like the Bobsled Program and all Perry teaches: incremental improvement rules. You take each corner and divide it into three sections, entry, apex and exit, and you look at how you can maximize your speed in the exit phase so you going quicker all the way down the straight bit of track that follows.
The entire circuit is actually hundreds of little sections strung together. The exit phase is like ROI it¹s the key to making this thing work. You can go into the entry of a corner real fast and this is kinda like buying clicks on Google – but if you then have to be on the brakes all the way through, you’re going to be crawling down the next bit of road, watching your competition blow right past you!
Setting up for the corner right is like getting your system into place with your business. A traffic tap on Adwords, a targeted and tested landing page, and an auto-responder sequence or membership offering is the equivalent of taking the perfect line through turn one at Phillip Island. It¹s a top gear corner, at 220 km/h (that¹s 140 mph), you just lean into it, hold you breath, and sweep through. That’s one corner down. You incrementally improve your speed in every corner of the track, and you¹ve put together a very fast lap time. You incrementally and systematically improve your business, with measurability and ROI foremost in your mind, and you¹ve put together a rocking business.
I won on Saturday, for the fastest lap. It was my first race in this class, and I knocked off the previously unbeaten reigning champion. A couple of other guys came up to me afterwards looking to get some tips.
How did you do that time? Did you brake really late for turn 3? Or did you take a special line around Siberia Corner?
I couldn’t help but chuckle at the similarities to the Bobsled Run.
So yeah, I won, but the reason I was even out there in the first place is the “pro team” quality education I¹ve soaked up from Perry Marshall. And way more important than winning is knowing why and how to repeat it again and again.
The lessons learned via Perry Marshall, Howie, Bryan and the whole Bobsled program are ensuring I can virtually pick and choose the markets I want to build businesses in.
And it ensures I can keep racing cars!

From 61 sales per month to 221 in 4 months:
Before:
My ads were hanging out low on the page with great conversion and low cost. I was not converting the top level keywords at all (the adgroups had been paused for months). I had a major brain cramp on improving adwords ads. Adwords was just a pain in the rear that I had to endure to do testing and make sales.
After:
I’ve bought ~30 domain names and have tested many of them. I increased bids on some keywords to speed up testing. Several new domain names are totally killing it on CTR and conversion to sale vs. my old www- domain names or my “real” domain name. After lowering bids based on position moving up, I’ve got ads running in position 2-3 for less than what I was paying for 7-8…this is for a top tier keyword.
Conversion is working well on most keywords, the top tier keywords are still much more expensive per sale, but between testing adwords and testing landing pages, cost/sale is starting to come down.
Google adwords clicks are 3.8X the November numbers, cost per sale is 2.5X the November number (November was my lowest number ever @ $8.29) and cost per sale is starting to trend lower.
November had 61 sales, March (so far) has 221 sales. I’m pretty sure average order size is up also, but won’t calculate that until the end of the month.
Had to talk with my drop shipper to move them from a credit card to a check card (credit card hit the limit). She said something like “You must have a really nice website, I’ve never seen one sell this well.”
Thanks,
