Rapacious Hyderabad, Dropping like Flies in Delhi,
& Trippy, Trippy, Trippy
Imagine Godzilla is coming to stomp out your town. Everybody is scrambling every direction, none of the stoplights are working, people are using every possible means of transportation to hightail it outta here.
That’s Hyderabad traffic for you.
It is literally near-gridlock contention for every foot of space on the street with barely any rules at all. Horns blare, contestants take any conceivable shot at being the next car that goes through an empty space. Meanwhile beggars are sticking their hands in your window and holding babies in your face asking for money and if you give them something they just put it in their pocket and keep holding out their hand to get more and more from you.
No gratitude, ferociously persistent, utterly obnoxious. They follow you from one intersection to another with hand held out.
It gradually dawns on me that these are professional beggars (equipped with small child on arm to induce guilt, but said child does not look all that unhealthy to me). This is how they ply their trade, and there are surely more worthy targets for my charitable dollars. I’m no fount of wisdom on such matters but that’s my take.
Last night we arrived in Delhi, the huge, modern capital of India. Headline on today’s paper: “Dropping like flies.” It’s 105 degrees, and get this: it’s standing room only at the crematoriums… from all the people who are getting heat stroke and need to be taken care of. There’s even a color picture of, uh, the job they perform at the crematorium. Fun stuff!
In Delhi we visited the National Museum (once I slowed my metabolism down to Museum-speed I thoroughly enjoyed it), the largest Mosque in the country (the Muslim tour guide was extremely friendly to us despite a nearly complete language barrier between us), and half our crew went to Pizza Hut for lunch.
Pizza hut on your last day in India??? WIMPS. Dude, how about some Mutter Paneer or Chicken Curry or some REAL food?
But no, they wanted Pizza hut. They did insist it was the best Pizza Hut they’d ever eaten at though.
Physical Healing and Miracles – Right in front of our eyes
Now… I never told you what happened on Sunday. Now this is nothing less than trippy, and some of the thousands of people reading this just are not going to find this believable. But I’ll do my best to describe it. First a word of explanation.
My dad was a minister and I, therefore, went to Sunday School like a good kid should. They told me about Jesus healing the sick and everything. And where I grew up they also told me things like that don’t happen anymore. Not like that anyway, where someone lays hands on someone and prays and the person gets better.
“Nope, that all went away when St. Peter and all his disciple buddies passed on. That was just for getting Christianity started.” As in, Miracles may happen now and then, but they sure ain’t happenin’ on command. That’s what I was always taught, and I accepted all that.
Then of course when you turn on the TV and see the faith healers plying their trade, most of us run out of the room screaming. Educated people are way too smart for that, right?
While I still have zero regard for the guys on TV, during the last few years I’ve been completely re-thinking this whole question. Based on personal experiences, as I shall share.
I’ve got a friend named Geri Keck from Tipp City Ohio. She had Lupus. When you look up Lupus you see it’s an incurable disease. She had it for years. Did all the things you do – went to the doctor, got treatments, changed her diet, prayed for help, all that stuff. Still had lupus.
One day she’s having a Bible study and one of the women suddenly stands up and says, “Geri, God just told me to pray for you right now.” So they did and she felt this warm feeling flushing through her abdomen and…. went to the doctor, it was completely GONE. No trace.
That was about 5 years ago.
I know another guy named Lionel. Had severe ADHD (Adult Attention Deficit Disorder) and was deaf in one ear. My friend Kelly Huber laid hands on him, prayed, and healed him. No more ADHD – he even went and took a 3 hour test and confirmed it was gone. His hearing is now fine in his formerly deaf ear.
That was about six weeks ago. Lionel is just ecstatic. Kelly’s kinda happy about that, too.
So here we are in Rajahmundry at Pastor Isaiah’s church service, he’s got about 30 people there, I’m here with Jeremy who, as it turns out, has been having experiences like this himself. Healing people. So Isaiah invites anybody who wants any kind of healing prayer to line up in front of Jeremy. Jeremy calls me over to help him and we start prayin’ for people.
One woman, maybe 60 years old, had fallen a year ago and hurt her arm. She could not raise her elbow past the middle of her chest. When she moved her arm up and down she complained that her shoulder would crack and pop and Jeremy and I could feel that too, when we put our hands on her shoulder when she’d move it.
He started praying for her. Probably spent 15 minutes. By the time Jeremy was done both shoulders felt identical, there was no cracking and she could raise her arm above her head on her own strength. I asked her to do it for me and I snapped a picture. She said it didn’t hurt anymore and both arms were equally good.
Another lady, maybe 30 years old, had somewhat recently had brain surgery to remove a cancerous tumor. She pulled her hair back and I could tell just brushing my hand over her head that there was a big piece of her skull taken out and a large indention on her head. She complained that she’s been having seizures since the operation, and she has had no feeling anywhere in her left arm.
Jeremy started praying that God would heal her entire skull and put everything back. We prayed for her and prayed for her. After about a half hour her head hadn’t changed but she started feeling tingling on her skin and by the time we were done, she said she could feel everything with her left arm exactly like her right arm.
No success on her skull filling in. Not yet anyway. But she was VERY excited about the feeling come back in her left arm!
Oh, and last Tuesday in the Deep Forest we’d done the same thing with some other people. There was a guy with a broken wrist who could barely bend it, and when Jeremy was done he had full range of motion with no pain.
Now I’ve told you about three people, there were many more – most got some benefit, some didn’t seem to get any. These are the most dramatic examples of what happened. But I’ll tell you one thing: I learned that prayer CHANGES things. Especially when administered the way the apostles always said to.
I fully understand that a lot of people reading this are very, very skeptical.
As well you should be.
After all, you wasn’t there, were you? No you weren’t. You only have my word to go on.
Well, I forgot to bring my portable MRI machine on the plane so I could do before / after scans of all these people, and as concerns this particular event, my own eyewitness testimony is about as good as I can give you here.
However… if you’re skeptical in the healthy sort of way that wants to really investigate things and see for yourself, There’s a book I recommend for you: “Real Miracles” by Richard Casdorph.
This was written in the 1970′s, Casdorph was a medical doctor who documented 10 different healings like this, complete with medical charts, photographs, x-rays, letters from physicians, all that stuff. You can look the book up on Amazon and read the Table of Contents, which is impressive in and of itself. Healings of:
-Malignant Brain Tumor
-Multiple Sclerosis
-Cancer of the kidney
-Osteoporosis of the Entire Spine
…and a whole bunch more. Link is here
We joked about Jeremy doing rotator cuff surgery and neurosurgery all on the same day and only missing lunch, but of course Jeremy didn’t heal these people, God did.
Why?
‘Cuz God loves us.
I’ll leave you with that thought. The Great Physician can heal you too.
God Bless.
Perry Marshall
UPDATE: On August 2, 2007 I got this email from Ananth:
Respected Mr. Perry Marshall,
Greetings from India!
Thank you very much for your prayers.
Your trip to India was amazing. Many were healed and increased their faith in God.
They are sharing their testimony to many people. Manyt times they are asking about you and Mr. Jeremy for prayers. We told them that next year definitely they will come to pray for you and for many.
I would like to share the testimony of my Grand mother(My father’s mother). Her name is Mrs. Suvarthamma and her age is 75. She was suffering from severe headache and neck pain from so many years and also if she takes anything from her mouth she will be feeling pain in her throat. After your prayers She is completely healed. She is very happy and doing all the works easily irrespecitve of her age. God did miracle in her life through your prayers.
Another women named Mrs. Mary, Her age is 30. She had operation on her head. Hair was fully sworn and the head was like smooth sponge. She used to have pain on her head daily. and also her hand is not working and she doesnt have any feeling on her hand. After your prayers she bacame healed. She feels her hand and she can do works with that hand normally as another hand. Praise the Lord.
Every one hearing of her witness, asking us about you and requesting us to bring you back to India.

Thanking you Sir,
Yours faithfully,
Ananth

Hi there
I don’t know why this happening to me but I’m really glad that it is. What I’m referring to is the fact that I’m being led towards that which I’ve always been searching for – GOD.
As a once practicing drug addict, my life was a total mess. I was admitted to a rehab facility in 2003 where I went to a meeting held there on Sunday night. I was battered and broken and spiritually bankrupt. I am born a Hindu and had looked to my religion for a long time to help me with my disease. It was just before I went into rehab that I called out to Jesus for the first time and begged for help. I don’t know why I did this but I did. At this meeting (Christian based)which deals with alcoholics in particular the most incredible thing happened to me. I felt a strange sort of buzz and then my right hand made the sign of the cross from my forehead to my chest and then from my left to right shoulder.
While all this was happening, I was fully conscious of it but unable to stop it. It was as if I had become some sort of puppet but completely aware of what “I was doing”. My right hand then went up into the air with my palm facing forward I spoke. I said to all in the room who were now staring at me, “hello. Why are you all staring at me? Are you afraid?” Then while waving my hand with my palm still facing forward across the room I said “Don’t be afraid, you are all my children”. The nurses then came and took me away only to admit me a little later that evening for observation in a psych ward at a nearby hospital. I know how this sounds, especially coming from someone who used to take drugs but I feel like I just had to share this.
I didn’t clean up straight afterward and instead became really confused. This confused state lasted till November 12 2006 when I finally resumed my search for God and some peace in my life. I have been clean since that day and have never looked back. I believe that God hears every single prayer and answers those that have integrity and that are truly sincere. My conclusion after what I’ve experienced is that God is actually alive and can hear you and see you. It is quite unfortunate that there are those whose “free minds” choose to accept all but what is glaring them in the face.
I have not converted to Christianity in any formal way but don’t mind being called a Christian. I don’t really fancy myself as the religious type but my journey towards enlightenment has just begun so who knows what’s in store for me.
My experience has never before been shared on a platform such as this one but I’m really glad I did. Maybe God wants me to tell you, Mr Perry Marshall, that he has made his presence felt elsewhere and that you inspire people to carry his message like you’ve just inspired me.
Please just keep doing what you’re doing.
From : A very grateful believer. Keshan Chetty (South Africa)
Keshan,
Blessings to you for sharing this story. I want to encourage you to share it with more people, it will grow in its power to protect you. From Psalm 91:
Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
This I declare about the Lord:
He alone is my refuge, my place of safety;
he is my God, and I trust him.
For he will rescue you from every trap
and protect you from deadly disease.
He will cover you with his feathers.
He will shelter you with his wings.
His faithful promises are your armor and protection.
Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night,
nor the arrow that flies in the day.
Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness,
nor the disaster that strikes at midday.
Though a thousand fall at your side,
though ten thousand are dying around you,
these evils will not touch you.
Just open your eyes,
and see how the wicked are punished.
If you make the Lord your refuge,
if you make the Most High your shelter,
no evil will conquer you;
no plague will come near your home.
For he will order his angels
to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.
You will trample upon lions and cobras;
you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!
The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who trust in my name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honor them.
I will reward them with a long life
and give them my salvation.”
AWESOME! AWESOME! AWESOME!
I am a nobody who is starting to wake up to what is really going on in the world around me, America in particular. I used to think all the “conspiracy theory stuff” was complete bunk spewed by paranoid wacko’s. I’m not so certain anymore.
My faith in a Creator has somehow endured, despite all the Darwinian, Unitarian Universalist, local corrupt legal/political system, and UMC administration atheistic “enlightenment” attacks. (I used to work for the College of Engineering). I’ve been at the top of my classes in all my endeavors. I’ve always, and still do, loved science and engineering. I have no advanced degrees, but I love learning, and understanding things. Long ago, I decided “GOD”, the REAL “GOD” was Truth, if nothing else. This has been my “rock”. I was raised in a Presbyterian Church, but not under strict control or indoctrination. I’ve become involved with several other denominations, searching for the real “Truth”. I’ve discovered “It” is available to everyone, everywhere, all the time. “Conscience”, I believe, is God’s nearly silent but always present coach giving advice, but always allowing choice.
There are far fewer days ahead of me now, than behind. I’ve concluded that Jesus was, is, and ever shall be, “I Am” in human form, demonstrating unimaginable love, understanding and compassion for humankind, despite all the horrors and injustices of this world.
I’ve recently tried to become “political”, becoming involved in the Constitution Party as I see the current “2-Party” system in America as really being one party, whose members take turns destroying our Constitution and liberty under assorted pretexts. I became involved to the extent that I was asked to run for State Representative on the CP ticket last election. Upon more serious investigation into this, I’ve concluded this Party’s real agenda is the establishment of a Theocracy, built upon the personal Biblical interpretations of those who control the party at the moment. Their heart’s may be in the right place at the moment, but Theocracies, headed by mortal men, have a poor track record of maintaining justice and liberty. The ONLY Theocracy I will support is one headed by the Man who walks on water….. in Person.
I’ve decided to do something really “wacko”, that will most certainly fail, but I’m going to try anyway. America needs a new political party that genuinely honors the wisdom of our founders, and the wisdom of “ancient” men whose understanding dwarfs the “wisdom” of virtually all modern day “leaders”. I believe it is time for a real change. A Party in harmony with Constitution, conscience and Truth. One that is willing to point out the flaw in our current system, propose a solution, and implement it.
I’ve never created a website before. I have no formal training in this, and have much to learn. However, I’m plodding ahead anyway.
This is very much in its infancy. I’m presently collecting seemingly random ideas, observations and facts hoping to discern what is important, organize it, and present it in a way that is “bullet proof”. I’ve spoken to many people, mostly complete strangers I somehow manage to strike up a “political” conversation with. I find virtually everyone is disenchanted, to one extent or another, and is looking for an answer. These people listen to my “radical” ideas, and concur… to my utter amazement. I am now composing an introductory “Platform Statement” for a hypothetical new party…. “The Everlasting Liberty Party”. Few of the ideas I’m about to spew upon the world via my site, are “cast in stone”. My intention is to stimulate dialogues and thought processes. To offer a place where conscientious people’s voices can be heard, respected, and coalesced into something powerful and real. A “place” NOT controlled by the “FED”, or campaign “contributions”, or “Major Media”, or the establishment “status quo”, or Wall Street gamblers, or “Political Correctness”, or the “interpretations” of law by corrupt lawyers, judges and politicians, or fascist corporations, or anything else that is an affront to common sense, conscience, Constitution, and Truth.
One of the platform proposals is offering a serious alternative, in our public schools, to the dogma of Darwinism as the only plausible explanation for the origin of life. ID ideas need to be side by side with this morally poisonous doctrine that is presently crammed down people’s throats such that if you do not accept it, you are an ignorant and superstitious idiot unworthy of anything beyond pushing a broom.
Your work, and that of Hugh Ross, has been monumentally inspirational to me. I’ve downloaded tons of MP3′s from both of you, and listen to them whenever possible, most commonly at night when I go to bed. I’ll retire early just to plug in my ear buds, lay back and learn. The problem is that I’m still awake to 2AM, if my batteries don’t fizzle.
I want to find a way to support and encourage what both of you are doing. If I were a “zillionaire”, I’d shovel money to both of you. But the sad truth is that I’ve lost my job, and am struggling to find work, about to loose everything I have to the callous bankers. I don’t have very much.
Is there any way a pauper can help you? If you have time and interest, visit my site. I have much to do yet. Would you mind if I created a link(s) to your site(s)?
My 2nd site is an attempt to start my own small business, again. An attempt to keep body and soul together. “WWW.RJE-Online.com”. I financed setting this up with my meager stock accumulations that were intended for retirement, that will not happen now. The stock market “crash” destroyed more than 60% of the value of my assets. My original intent was to liquidate part of these stocks be become “independent” in my own business again. (I’d done this long ago).
The current “Employment at Will” laws virtually guarantee that when “scum” rises to the top of any “employer” controlled enterprise, that economic and moral enslavement of “employees” happens. Been there, done that, lessons learned, problems identified, solutions being formulated, and hopefully implemented if it’s not too late to wake everyone up.
I know from your MP3′s that you dislike becoming involved in “politics”. I understand why and largely agree. My personal philosophy has actually paralleled yours, until recently. I’ve come to believe that my children are going to live in slavery and tyranny, if “something” is not done NOW. Everyone wants and expects someone else to do “something”….. that “It” will somehow fix itself if we all just ignore the problems long enough. Expecting the “establishment” to do anything really meaningful is delusional. I’ve decided there is no “it”. I am “it”. Everyone is “it”. If everyone is sheepishly waiting for someone else to risk safety and security to “fix things”, it will NOT get fixed by any earthly powers.
I welcome your comments, suggestions, and ideas, if you have time and interest. I AM looking for work (somewhat desperately so). My RJE site posts my resume, letters of recommendation, etc.
My primary present job search problem is “political”. You see, I am a “troublemaker”…. at least in the eyes of a few I’ve found myself subordinate to. I’ve been black-balled by the local corrupt UMC Board of Curators controlled legal system. I’ve refused to forsake conscience and get involved in illegal drugs when coerced to do so my then newly appointed UMC “boss”. I was once severely “chastised” for “preaching”, by the Engineering department chairman, for giving a one word answer to an unusual question posed to me by a group of students. I said the apparently most dreadful and despised word in all of “higher” educational institutions… “Jesus”.
I’ve refused to participate in the falsification of inspection data by a brake pedal assembly manufacturer I later worked for.
After 10 years or so of wonderful employment at another manufacturing plant, “Corporate” changed, and “Cash is King” became the new company slogan. A known and easily preventable safety issue on a new assembly line was presented to a new, young accountant plant manager. He told the safety committee “we” cannot afford to fix it” and that “anyone who told the people “on the floor” about “our” decision, would be in “big trouble”. Upon returning from a business trip shortly after this troubling encounter with the new plant manager, someone had lost the end of their finger, as predicted by the committee. Then another person was injured. I called OSHA, something never before even remotely considered. The problem was fixed. I was terminated for “Insubordination”.
After 2 years, “my” lawyer took payment directly from this errant corporation, and declared the case “settled”. The fact that I didn’t concur was deemed irrelevant. I got nothing. The “judge” (closed door off the record “hearing”) threatened me with large fines if I told anyone what happened. I believe this same “judge” was involved in the drug cover-up at UMC where I had previously worked. This explains the last minute decision to deny me my constitutional right of a jury trial in St. Louis, away from the local corrupt “good ole boy” legal system. “Justice”, American style.
These are very brief renditions, hopefully explaining some of the reasons for my present beliefs and motives. I have many other similar real stories I’m trying to figure out a way to post and disseminate before the local corrupt legal system messes up my life even more.
Sincerely, Richard Juergens RAJuergens@Gmail.com 573-289-6521
Richard,
Wow, what a story. Keep the hammer down. Spread my links around, by all means, and keep the faith!
Perry
Hi, Perry
I was wondering, when I read the stories of healing through prayer, what does your prayer go like? Not word-by-word, but mostly what you remember, the structure, some specific words etc.
I always wonder about prayers and their contents in order to learn how to pray. I know ‘Our father’ is a structural example, but still I want to read your praying experiences. Especially when it comes to healing!
Some of these took 30-45 minutes. It was WORK. Felt like it anyway.
Now, compared to paying medical bills and going to the doctor and being in the hospital, it was a cakewalk.
We focused on praising God, inviting Him into the situation.
We asked if there was any issues or unconfessed sin that God was bringing to the person. Any spiritual unresolved problems that He was reminding them of. We asked God to come and heal this person.
We would go through a cycle of asking them if anything was improving and then we’d ask again. We’d go back and forth, expecting improvement. Knowing that it doesn’t always happen all at once. We would touch the paralyzed woman’s hand and ask if she could feel it.
She could feel a little so we’d go back and pray for more.
This is very common. We would lean into the fact that God WANTS healing for His children and invite it and open ourselves up for it.
In time, the healings would manifest themselves.
Blessings to you, Dalibor,
Perry
Perry.
The existence of supernatural occurences outside the realm of Christianity… doesn’t that mean something? We can’t attribute every miracle, every healing, every phenomenon that isn’t performed in the name of Jesus to Satan or to placebo, can we? It seems this kind of stuff isn’t confined to our little world. It seems miracles are of a universal nature and not confined to Yahweh.
And what about the specificity of certain miracles? Why does God seem to like giving children to barren parents, or healing cancer or lupus, all things that are shady and go unnoticed inside the human body? When will we see an amputee’s arm grow back? When will we see a tetraplegic play soccer? When will we see a ressurrection after four days of death? It just seems that God has certain miracles that he’s “allowed to do” and others that he just doesn’t. This doesn’t fit.
What I’m saying, I guess, is this. Given the entire scope of miraculous events around the world, it seems more reasonable to attribute them to a universal supernatural realm (and this is where spiritism seems to have some answers) than to a specific, one-religion God. I don’t deny the supernatural, and in fact think it very naive to do so since all it takes is one occurence to prove you wrong (and this is naturalism’s weak point). It’s just that supernatural manifestations don’t seem to all point toward our God.
I don’t get it.
David
David,
I am far from an expert in miracles in other religions. I have no doubt that they exist.
So far as I know, only Christianity claims material evidence for people being raised from the dead. The resurrection of Jesus is the central proof of Christianity. There are still people being raised from the dead now. See “The Finger of God” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kkxF8eHePzs
I would not at all rule out the possibility that Jesus heals people in other religions.
I would submit to you that the position that there is a good force and an evil force and both have ability to do miracles – but that the good can do greater miracles than evil – does fit the data.
Perry:
In my experience, the most remarkable miracles have been occurrences that the Bible refers to as the “gift of knowledge” or wisdom: in other words, “information miracles.” I have personally been able to assist distressed individuals by means of knowing things about them (“so, how many years ago did you have your abortion?”) that I had no natural way of knowing. If, as you indicate in your cosmicfingerprints.com site it is true that information itself is outside of the laws of matter and energy, then my experience fits with the existence of God: the One who is the Word should be able to “download” necessary information for healing that I cannot know through means of reason alone.
