Twitter IPO, Trans Fat Ban & No Touching at Recess

In today’s news….

** Twitter just opened its Initial Public Offering today. Yesterday I was talking to a 4-Man Intensive grad about stocks and investments. I said,

“When Google did its IPO, I didn’t buy Google stock. Why? Because I was using Google to buy CUSTOMERS. A great stock will double your money in a year. Buying customers can double your money in a month or a week or even a day.”

What the mainstream media thinks is the story is almost NEVER the real story.

Let me repeat:

What the mainstream media tells you is the story is almost N-E-V-E-R the real story.

To them you are just one of those gullible sheeple clambering through the wilderness of life. You should always ask yourself:

“Since I KNOW that this is not the real story… what IS the real story?” You might already know.

Twitter has no control over their own destiny. I don’t see how they’re ever going to be more than a minor player in the ad space. I’ve not heard anybody raving about the ROI they’re getting from Twitter ads. If I’m missing something, post a comment below cuz I’d like to hear from you.

** The US Food & Drug administration is threatening to ban trans fats. In a related story, “School forbids kindergarteners from touching at recess,” physical contact between children is also banned by a school in British Colombia, to prevent injuries caused by playing.

The new policy calls on parents to talk to their children about the ban and encourage them to play imaginary games that don’t involve fighting.

“We will have a zero-tolerance policy with regards to hands-on play, resulting in the missing of playtime and trips to the office for those who are unable to follow the rules.”

Coming to a city near you: Bubble wrap + mandatory 24/7 bicycle helmets for every citizen. City workers will be installing rails on all streets and highways, so you can only drive your car on predetermined lanes. Thus eliminating any possibility of car accidents.

Sources say the government will soon be confiscating all your money so you can’t lose it on dumb business ventures.

Sleep with one eye open.

P.S.: My theory is that a white van from the Federal Government comes by every month & tosses bags of cash into the Twitter loading dock, for helping ’em overthrow foreign governments. That’s what’s been propping ’em up so far.

  1. We do not really use Twitter for advertising. We mainly use it just to get our name out there and it seems to be working very well considering Twitter is not very popular. We have been seeing more and more retweets and favorites.

  2. Twitter is still a work in progress in developing their revenue model.

Great concept; great penetration; now need to add revenue sources….PS Google’s is not the only online model.

  3. Saw Dunkin’ Brands Chief on CNBC yesterday being interviewed about the company’s Twitter campaign.
