Bad Ass Coffee & Big Ass Fans

I’ve written on numerous occasions (here, here) about the marketing wizardry of Big Ass Fans, the Kentucky company who made an otherwise boring product into a highly successful brand personality.

From time to time I get photos like this one from UK AdWords consultant David Rothwell, who’s on vacation in Florida. A company called Bad Ass Coffee:

Bad Ass Coffee of Orlando Florida!

The benefit for me is that every time my students see something like this, they think of me!

Hey baby, it always pays to be outrageous in marketing…

  1. Thanks. I know Google banned a lot of affilate accounts, but my hunch is they were direct linking to CB sales pages, or had links to CB sales pages on their landing pages.

I’ve been doing a lot of SEO and get steady, consistent, free traffic. But if I could invest the time and money I spend on building links towards PPC, I’m thinking I could build a sizable list and promote affiliate offers that way as well.

Looking forward to the webinar today.

  2. Hey Perry,

Do your AdWords techniques still work for affiliate marketing? Not direct linking to Clickbank or anything like that. I’m talking about building a solid list and then promoting products to them?

    Thanks,
    Raza

    P.S
Do you have a brother named Robert by any chance? I work with a guy named Robert Marshall at Advocate Healthcare in Oakbrook who looks a little like you.

    1. Yes, absolutely, if you’re building a list and a fan base then my stuff definitely works for aff. marketing.

My dad was named Robert, but no relation to that guy….
