One year ago today was “Gotcha! Day.” On December 4 2011, we met Zoe in Nanchang, China. Recently one of my customers Deb Gallardo (who I’d never met or spoken to) contacted us and said she’d felt inspired to write a song.
Last Christmas, I came home from China with a new kid.
The day we left for China, our neighbor snapped a picture of us all eating breakfast. I titled it “Our last meal as a family of six.” Kinda weird, knowing you’re gonna leave and come home with an extra kid, huh?
From the day we arrived from China to the beginning of the New Year was a very strange, surreal time.
I got a toddler for Christmas!
A week ago today we touched down from our 13 hour plane ride from Hong Kong. That’s a long trip under any circumstances. It’s even more interesting with a 1 1/2 year old who’s only known you for 2 weeks!
She was a little clingy and a little fussy but other than that – great. Couldn’t possibly ask for better.
This entire process has gone w-a-a-a-y better than expected. A month before we went to China…
