"Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords changed my life."

As an author, nothing makes my day better than someone who says, “You changed my life!” Bryan and I got just such an email from blogger and PPC consultant Adam Kreitman:

Hi Bryan-

While the 80/20 Productivity and Consulting Accelerator courses this year have been incredible, I still credit the original version of The Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords with having the biggest impact on the course of my professional life so far.
I tell the short story in a blog post promoting the 3rd edition of your book “This Book Changed My Life“. The super short version is that I picked the book up, used it for market research to find a new market for a drug testing business I was President of, then left that business to set up my own Internet marketing firm, Words That Click.
It will be 5 years this Thursday that I officially registered the LLC and haven’t looked back since. Last year was my first 6 figure year and this year will be even more solidly so. Between what I picked up in 80/20 Productivity earlier in the year and what I’m learning in Consulting Accelerator I only expect things to, well, accelerate.
But it all started with picking up The Ultimate Guide. I hope to thank you in person come September at the seminar, but with the release of the 3rd edition of your book and the 5 year anniversary of my company, it seems like an appropriate time to reach out electronically and express a very heartfelt thank you!

  1. Agreed, I’ve also purchased The Ultimate Guide to Google AdWords from RajaAdwords.com for my own website and it’s very useful to increase selling products. Nothing wrong if you try.

    1. Well said Kent! That satisfaction can’t be bought with money. There’s no harm in earning less but getting more appreciation for your work. However, perceptions differ, requirements differ!!

  2. I had my Maui signed 2nd edition out on my desk the other day and someone walked by and said, “Don’t you think it’s funny that you’re trying to learn adwords from a book? Why don’t you just watch the training videos that Google provides?”

I’m really bad at answering questions I can’t believe people just asked – probably the main reason I got out of the consultant for hire biz. But, he stood there waiting for a response, so I gave him the only phrase that came to mind – “Never task the doberman with guarding the ham-sandwiches” – and walked away.

So, here’s to Perry and the ridiculous idea of mastering adwords by reading one of those 20th century things we call a book.
