From Divorce, Bankruptcy & Foreclosure to Liberation: 1 year

In 2011 Tim got divorced; experienced a foreclosure and filed for bankruptcy.

Lost friends. Experienced the death of a close mentor. Was depressed, struggled with faith. Asked himself “Who the hell am I?”

Last year he drank a lot.

Then… experienced a *major* breakthrough at a deep, personal level. Broke the six-figure barrier, is earning a record income and experiencing deal flow that is, in his words, “insane.”

The solution? It had nothing whatsoever to do with marketing. (His turnaround was part of the inspiration for my Financial Sozo workshop that’s coming up June 1-2). Listen to Tim’s story, which he told in Roundtable this past Wednesday. 20 minutes long:

What is "80" and what is "20" for your business right now? Take my 2-minute quiz and I'll show you where you'll get the highest compound interest on your time and money!

  1. Hey Perry and Steve,
My name is Repo (Ron) Martinez, and I just started following you Perry. I am reading your 80/20 book and really enjoying it. I am a Christian and have been for years but I am in a storm from hell, so it is encouraging to hear that Steve got out the exact storm I am in. I am experiencing everything that Steve is going through but a lot worse, if you could imagine that. My faith was almost broken. I have always been the one who saved the world, the homeless, the drug addict, the less fortunate and now I am that man. I am very angry at God right now, as I do not understand how he could kill his soldier of faith. I’m so passionate about internet marketing and am I so encouraged that there is actually a man of God who is an internet marketer. I have been at this learning IM learning process for 2 1/2 and I still can’t make more then I spend on traffic, but I’ll get there. Perry you and Steve you guys are a big encouragement to my mission, to make a full time living online. Thank you Steve for sharing. I wish I knew how you actually pulled out of you situation.

  2. Hi Perry, I can’t play the Mp3 on the web page. I downloaded the file and neither Media Player nor audacity will play the file. I am eager to listen to this testimonial.

  3. First off, I am new to Perry’s materials and the Mastermind group, so we don’t have much in common from that perspective business wise. However, one thing we do have in common, we all are living in a world of hurt and pain and brokenness, it’s every where we turn, and no one is exempt.
We all have a story, the difference in mine and yours is that Mine is Major and the rest are minor. My point here is that I believe with all of my being that we all were put here to be used in some capacity by God, in spite of the challenges we face. I’m a Christian, and will be 60 yrs old my next birthday. I was diagnosed with an illness a few years back and am now on disability as well, I lost everything after having a successful career for many years as a FInancial Advisor. I’m starting over at 60 as many have and are, and I’m going to do things a little differently this time. I’m buying the Financial Sozo course this afternoon as I believe the answers lie in there as far as my future plans are concerned.. There are more scriptures in the Bible about money than any other topic, so it only makes sense to learn how to be good stewards of all that is entrusted to us. I”m so proud and thankful to be part of a group like this, and I”m especially blessed that I’ve crossed paths with Perry Marshall.

  4. I hear the disaster stories like this all the time in my business. It’s nice to hear someone who turned it around.

  5. Good stuff, as a Christian, who is also an avid sinner I find it refreshing that there is someone who doesn’t try to make everyone feel guilty about being human (especially when it comes to sex and money).

God is our Father, and he didn’t put us on Earth to suffer. Connecting with him is surely a smart thing to do if you want a break through.

I won’t be able to attend this very program – but you know you are literally changing lives with the free stuff that you’re giving out.

    Thank you Perry.

  6. Having gone through a major life change in recent years, I can relate to many aspects of your post. I am not a Christian and cannot relate to the references to Christ, yet the lessons shared resonated at a deep level. Perry, thanks for sharing someting so powerful for all to embrace.

  7. Well done Tim!

Listening to this, I was interested to hear him speak of how he dealt with his fears. He challenged one a day, every day. He whittled away and worked at them. Sure, he would always backtrack. These things take a lot of time and a lot of effort to overcome.

The fact that he did proves that it can be done.

That tiny snippet of advice is where I am at for the next year in clearing out my own patch. All thanks to the generosity of someone who was prepared to stand up and speak about their failures – and what they learned from them.

Perhaps, Perry you should do a repeat on your “well, it is 88 days into the year, what have you achieved” – should you perhaps do a “what have you learned so far this year”? Any entrepreneur will have a list. Guaranteed.

  8. Perry:

I am so broke I can’t afford catfood for my cats. I am seriously depressed, about to lose my home, and struggling beneath a Titanic load of debt. Got caught in a scam and have applied to Social Security Disability because the stress is causing me a world of muscle weakness, fatigue, and pain.

I’ll make you a deal, because I have nothing more to lose at this point, if you help me turn this around I will be a poster girl for your program. I have no experience with any of this but with some mentoring I bet I might be able to do it. What do you say? Please help me. I am a hard worker and love to learn.
